Hello, everyone, I came back a few weeks ago, and then lost the plot a bit!
We've had an interesting few weeks, not needing to shield but still keeping in as much as possible, barring food shops, regular walks, and essential trips (dropping things off safely for friends who do have to shield). I've had the most horrendous sciatica for about 6 weeks, barely able to move for the first two, but seems to be easing off now - meant that so many things I wanted to do during this time haven't happened. However, we've re-learned how to slow down, the lack of clock watching and other things that make me stressed or anxious has actually been marvellous, and I'm back to proper cooking every day, eating out of the cupboards, etc., which I'm really enjoying and is saving us money.
A friend's mum (80s) has passed away from this virus, lovely lady, and one of my best friends (a nurse) has had it badly but recovered, and a few other friends still have it, so we are still concerned for them. Hubby is still working - works for himself and he supplies a couple of firms that, in turn, supply parts of the food chain and pharmaceuticals industry - so we still have an income of sorts. My income has stopped (exams invigilator), and no idea if we'll be getting any sort of govt help, so glad hubby can still earn something!
My mindset is changing slightly, for the better, and will continue to I think. I find that I'm looking after myself in a way that I've seldom done. I now have the luxury of time to think about what I want out of life as it changes at the present, I don't need to do things that worsen my mental or physical health, quite the opposite. I suppose that I'm now able to do a massive stocktake of my life, and implement any changes, at a pace that I can cope with.
Sorry for the waffle at this time on a Tuesday morning, I've been doing a lot of writing lately and getting carried away!
Keep safe, and it's nice to be back properly.

That's good, jk0. I have also seen a written version online that also mentions a random bat, possibly fictitious. Joking aside, it would be good to know when lockdown rules are going to start lifting, and in what stages this will happen. There was discussion about how there could be shortages in some goods later in the year so I think it would be wise to keep an eye on our stores of food and think ahead as to what we might need. With hindsight I would have stocked up on flours, I am currently out of SR and it's like gold dust round here. I do have plain flour and baking powder and bicarb though.

I'm really really hoping this does have a positive effect on society, it would be good to get some positives out of itOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,89412

My Waitrose last week removed the shelf tags for leaf tea. I have about 3 packs in stock, but then what? Go and queue for an hour at another supermarket?

Awful news about your colleagues daz, hoping you soon feel better and enjoy your break from work.
Re-stocked the supple of bars of soap. So 14 bars of Friendly Soap on its way, if you buy 14 bars you get 20% off and I like that it is plastic free and the ethics of the company. I am still able to get both plain and SR flour in our small local shop but only the small bags and 1 of each at a time.Well Behaved women seldom make history

I think this proves how fast things can vanish from shelves and stay vanished for weeks. I'm definitely changing what and how much I stash in here, upping my game.Nicola Sturgeon advised today that we should think about wearing face masks in crowded places. Not medical ones - cloth ones or even scarves. I had already decided to do this probably for the rest of the year. Not going through all this and then getting the virus the minute I go to the shop or the hairdressers.15
