I think I may be losing my 3rd tenant soon since this started. The couple have her mother to stay to take care of the kids while they're at work, so are looking for somewhere bigger. It's a bit of a squeeze in a 2 bed flat. The 2nd lady (mature student) is returning to Saudi, as college has packed up until September. I offered 50% rent to leave her furniture there, but no dice, unfortunately. The first couple to leave are buying somewhere of their own. This is all getting rather worrying, as I will still have to pay council tax, ground rent, service charges, and utilities on all these vacant flats.8

I hope the new normal begins a with a cull of deadbeat politicians who have been exposed as totally useless. And I think like Gran3 that people should focus their thoughts on their own circumstances and stop watching and snitching on their neighbours..Personally for us I think wearing a facemask in busy areas will be a must for a year or more.14

Very interesting, jk0, makes a lot of sense. If you leave to one side the fact it was from an economics publication so obviously slanted in that direction, it makes sense that once all the data started coming through the lockdown should have been reviewed. It can be lifted gradually, in a controlled manner eg allowing some smaller businesses to re-open, gradually restarting school etc. Towards the end it sums up that if you are normally fit and well with a normal immune system and no comorbidities then you don't need to be going out with gloves and masks. If you're elderly, have health conditions and/or a compromised immune system then you take those precautions. My only issue with the concept of herd immunity is that this virus has killed people who were apparently healthy before. How can any of us guarantee that we won't be one of those statistics? Would you be happy to take that risk? A question we all have to answer for ourselves. One life - your life - live it!13

We've a Tesco delivery tomorrow and I hadn't realised that 80 items meant 80 individual items I had thought it was 80 selections but you could have up to 3 of each of them so today I'm taking out a great deal that I'd put in hoping to start building a winter store cupboard for next year. I shall use this to try for fresh things to see us through the next couple of weeks rather than for storage. In two weeks time we have a Morrissons slot and as far as I know they don't have the 80 items only rule (unless someone knows differently) so I'll transfer all the 'store' items to that list and hope that some of them are available. It will be tins and dried pulses, rice etc. so I hope some of what I want will be available.9

Yes we do have a car but don't have the necessary card to be able to use the cash and carry wholesalers, we had a neighbour back in Hampshire running his own business who authorised us to use the company card and it was how I used to run my stocks, I miss it very much being able to go and buy 12.5kilo sacks of sugar and 10 litre containers of vinegar in the pickling season was most useful. I don't know if we'd qualify as a private household to have use of something that would be very, very useful?8

T is awful with 80 limit, impossible to shop if buying for multiple households on one shop.
Morries ive found expensive for delivery but produce better and no limits on number of items just on individual items ie 3 etc. However they substitute items or dont put it in your order at all and if the substitute it more expensive you pay the higher price which with our budget I found stressful you cant hand back the substitute either, something to keep in mind.
The A supermarket seems good if can get del you dont pay the higher price and can request a refund online if you arent happy with the substitute.11 -
