It seems as though the 'I want it and I want it NOW!' brigade are lobbying for lockdown to be lifted just because they don't like the lock down even if they comprehend the need for the lockdown to be maintained for a great many of the UK population. The spoiled brat side of society is beginning to have the 'rolling on the floor screaming, kicking tantrum' they seem to think will result in the government backing down and placating them by letting them have their own way regardless of the consequences of the rest of us. The world is watching, the world is in lock down and I wonder how they will judge the UK if the government do court popularity over safety and lift the lock down too soon! We will be a laughing stock of buffoons and they will be able to watch the victim numbers climb and climb and count themselves lucky that their own populations are adult enough to accept what MUST be in order to survive this pandemic and rebuild life after it's gone!16

Hi guys
We live on the seafront and social distancing seems to come in waves ( please excuse the pun) Where we are isn’t too bad because we are away from the main touristy bit and also the new sea defences have meant that there are nice, wide promenades for us to avoid each other on but the police have started exercising their horses further up and regularly having a police presence because parts of the prom have looked like a bank hol weekend at times. Quite ridiculous with the age of the population round here and quite scarily we are finding a lot of the oldies are the ones not sticking to the rules.
i know eventually I’m going to have to return to my job so all I can do is try to be as healthy as possible, wash my hands lots and hope I’m one of the lucky ones who only gets it mildly. I have a feeling that this is going to be with us for quite a while so we’ll have to learn to live with it.

It’s hard isn’t it? Not everyone has a garden so people will be wanting to get out more. It’s good to be well stocked up with food to avoid shopping as much as possible. I’ve always kept well stocked cupboards and am so glad for that.13

PS Jamanda I didn’t mean that people should visit each other though!!11

I agree about worrying over people getting complacent. DH went to get the food shopping done and said the queue was massive and he was the only one wearing a mask. When he went last week everyone had a mask on. We have been working in the front garden and there is a constant stream of people walking past and a good half certainly aren't locals. I don’t know why suddenly everyone is feeling safe enough to act like its all over, but it is rather scary.14

Well my plan to try not touch as much as possible and not eat their food whilst in hospital went out the window when pain took over, I was there for slightly longer than planned but did select the hot food option thinking germs would be cooked off. Everyone had masks and aprons and gloves on, no partners allowed with you other than in delivery. Seemed to be a shortage of staff and certain drugs. Everyone was lovely who I came into contact with. Anyhow now home with baby after less than 24hrs in there.
And now not pregnant and feeling a little bit able I finally ventured into the loft!! It was like shopping for free, came down with my box of paints and sketch pads that were put up there along time ago, paints seem fine. A Bill Bryson book about the history of the home which ive not read. A pratical guide to self sufficiency which was bought many years ago when I was aiming for it and then got distracted by shiny cars and "normal" living, I said to DH that was like a brief holiday from reality and now we are back to our way of normal, shiny car fortunately sold at start of yr. Found summer shoes for 2 small children that bought in sale and put away. Easter stuff has been bought down as Easter will be tomorrow in our house the joys of children not knowing the date this yr.18 -

I don't think the weather is helping. A bit of sun, and it seems to addle some people's brains. And we've had a lot of sun recently. A period of rain may make people behave better.
I'll be lifting my lockdown when I decide. Probably about 6 months after everyone else - I'll be waiting to see the effects first. I've been fairly isolated for a few years now as it's an effort to go out and I'm quite happy by myself and this situation has a curious side-effect for me - because the pressure's off and I don't need to feel as if I should make myself go out I actually feel free-er than I have for a long time because I feel less under pressure more equal with other people.
