Just don't use a barbecue inside: you can't use your outdoor grill inside, even in your garage. Charcoal and gas grills produce large amounts of carbon monoxide and even small amounts can kill you. I know this might seem obvious to you, but every year a dozen people are killed using an outdoor grill inside.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5913

I was thinking about all of you last night, when we did our monthly "Big" shop at MrT's. They had virtually no pasta - not surprising since theirs is made in Northern Italy so probably inside the quarantine zone - but they were also out of the big (10kg) bags of chapati flour, the 10kg bags rice and many of the larger bags of pulses. They'd had plenty when we popped in a week ago, so it really did look as if people were panic buying.

Yes you can use a camping stove inside. My cooker works on Propane. It's charcoal you can't use. I have a coal fired stove for heating and use LPG for cooking, have done for over 40 years. Been powercuts of a week here and we managed just fine.

DD1 works in a supermarket & says that people are undoubtedly panic-buying; many of them are doing it online & ordering amounts of stuff well in excess of when I had 8 people living here full-time & did an online order once a month! It's kind of random what's selling out; hand-sanitiser, obviously, & flour, but a number of much more obscure & baffling items too. She suffers from Generalised Anxiety Disorder & dreads being ordered onto the tills under ordinary circumstances; I suspect she too will be cleaning her hands in between customers if she has to "cover" for her till-operating colleagues. Apparently yesterday an elderly customer grabbed her by the hand & pulled her away from the customer she was trying to assist, desperate to find the pharmaceuticals. He then sneezed all over her... she managed not to slap him, but it was a close thing. Worrying, on a number of different levels...Angie - GC Sept 25: £226.44/£450: 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 28/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)16

I've had a very busy day reorganising my medical supplies in the (hopefully unlikely) case I need to be taken to hospital. I have a blue plastic container that has all my medications in it and a written list. I made DP go through it all so he understands what must be done, and asked whether my list was clear. He pointed out a couple of things he'd like clearer so have done that. Also have a dedicated Covid-19 drawer where all the cough/cold/rehydration remedies are (hopefully they'll help a bit with symptoms) so that he knows where to find everything. Tomorrow I'll get another list done drawing up light meals I am able to tolerate (I have various food intolerances) so the poor man knows what to make me. Nothing complicated! All the stash shelves have been catalogued and labelled.115 cases as at 9.00 a.m. this morning. 8 patients out of those contracted the virus in the UK.11

Thanks for the tip, Zentimes. I've got to get DM to write a list of her numerous medications. I've lost track - managing chronic or long-term illnesses takes more organisation than I've thought about, apparently!
While I'm off work, I'm going to finish reorganising supplies in the food cupboards and the freezer.

Dear Gods, Un, you must have rattled when cornering!
What have you laid in for the nurture of Mrs.Un, since Fate has a nasty sense of humour that way?9 -
Clarifying what people are ordering/buying from DD1's supermarket that seems odd or misguided to me: heaps of towels & flannels (why did the spellchecker think I meant camels?!) & lots of air-fresheners & scented candles/reed diffusers. Vast quantities of crisps & chocolate bars, and energy drinks. I suppose they'll store well? But not exactly ace nutrition. Also "entertainment" items, mostly DVDs & games. Interesting...Angie - GC Sept 25: £226.44/£450: 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 28/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)10
