  • Without wanting to cop flak from antiVaxxers

    [STRIKE]antiVaxxers[/STRIKE] weakminded idiots

Fixed that for you (feeling particularly belligerent today)

Funnily enough I found my original 60's vintage NHS immunisation card the other day, duly updated in biro by my mum in into the 80's

Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?
  • Medics daughter & in wholehearted agreement, un, but Granny tried to teach me good manners even of those whose beliefs I struggle to comprehend.

Means I tend to let the lads answer the door to political canvassers, religious evangelists (exceptions made for Mormons who are solidly knowledgable on food storage) etc. Not least as Granny would so disapprove of me appearing clutching a thoughtful poker....
  • Yeah I know

Might go and sit in the sin bin for the rest of the day rather than drag the whole thread OT

Wriggles off sin bench to observe that the local Asda had seriously discounted some of the maple syrup range, likely to make way for more Christmas products. Husband looking somewhat poleaxed but cradling bottles of the good stuff....

May be worth eyeing *all* reductions to see if there are any individual quirks inadvertently made reasonable!

Just don’t get branston small chunk pickle at the supermarket - try Iceland & H&M first - £2 at Asda, £1.50 Iceland...

You may have noticed it’s been raining. Please check in case you’re in one of the areas warned there may flooding?
Apply your abundant common sense to “Is this journey really necessary” & have I the essentials (meds, phone, clean sundries, some cash) lest it get Deeply wet?

In conjunction with the 4 days fixed final fee on that auction website, I’d almost rather stay home & list stuff... (My contract of employment is such that I can just look forward to that, later.)

May your waterproofs live up to their description & where at all possible keep your feet dry.
  • Fairly light this side of the Pennines. Ventusky says it'll move further north later this morning. After a couple of very unexpected days in hospital I need to re-prep my prep, because it turns out prep for one hospital may not hold you in good stead for a different one (note to self: keep spare bed, electric heater, crowbar & megaphone in rucksack in boot of car)

Yes flood warnings here again, and I just hope it's not as bad as last time, which ended up with the coast guard having to help people trapped on a flooding road that was caving in, and we're 40 miles away from the sea, thank goodness there are brave people like them and all the other rescue services. Stay dry and warm everyone.

  • Thank you for that link, unrecordings, I'm sitting right under the bright green bit at the bottom! Definitely a tad soggy here... the river has stayed within its banks so far, but I'm watching with interest.
