Actually, if you read the OP it says that the driver signed for the delivery BEFORE even coming to the door to attempt delivery.

Spend a day watching people face the gargantuan task of signing on a PDA and sometimes you just cant face it.
  • If people think that someone writing their surname, most likely badly scrawled in capital letters, on a HHT is "forging their signature", then those people should think about changing their signature to an adult one, rather than the one they signed their first library card with.

And that excuses their actions how exactly? ;)

my Zalando package is nowhere to be seen, however the Hermes tracking states it has been delivered at my address and signed for, the "signature" appears to be the first letter of my name. Curiously the delivery was confirmed exactly 2 minutes before the deadline from the tracking info (9 PM). Delivered at 8:58 PM with a fake signature. I think it's safe to say I can forget about receiving the parcel. Hopefully Zalando will issue a full refund, I'll make sure to post an update.
  • the package arrived.... I guess they have quotas to hit before the end of the day? can't complain about the delivery but signing in a customer's name just doesn't seem right to me 🤔

Never use your signature on these devices, even if that is possible.

    I use a smiley face.
    Life in the slow lane
  • Had a delivery a few days back from Hermes. Chap said he was running 30 minutes early. He could come back in 30 minutes just to get the signature, or would I mind of he erm ;);)
I said no worries and have a great xmas.
  • I used to have a fantastic Hermes courier but she was promoted and her replacement is less great. He fails to pick up on agreed collection dates, he has left parcels in the bin, and he has also signed for parcels. When he does collect he doesn't attach the bar code to the blue card so although I know he has collected it, I have no actual proof if there was a dispute. That is also the issue with forging a signature.

Hi had a parcel delivered by Hermes & wasn't asked for a signature yet on checking tracking the delivery man had signed my signature stating parcel had been signed for by the customer? I have also had problems with the same driver not ringing the doorbell, not leaving a calling card & just leaving parcels around the garden. Any advice on complaining?

    Thx

Hi since starting this post in Nov 2018 unfortunately not alot as changed & seems that the way Hermes operate varies from region to region. At the moment since the above incident happened I have not had problems with deliveries.

  • Some people are missing the point. The OP was lucky and has his parcel. Other people won't be so lucky. When a delivery person is supposed to get a signature and just scrawl in the box but the person expecting the parcel doesn't receive it then it becomes a case of "well you signed for it!" NO WE DIDN'T! If they got a signature then there is a slight chance the signature can be read and perhaps a son daughter cleaner gardener family friend neighbour may have accepted it and it can be traced. I've checked tracking and it said I've signed but the signature was a meaningless scrawl. Even royal mail are faking them now and they charge extra for the signature service!
