Hermes Forged My Signature?
Comments
-
Did he, where was that? All I read was that the parcel was delivered without asking for a signature then the OP checked the tracking and saw it had been signed by the driver, it never said anything about checking the tracking details BEFORE he received the parcel.
Sorry - I've re-read the OP and realise that this was how I'd interpreted what was posted.0 -
Hi just to confirm I knew the parcel was due for delivery, this same driver had just left parcels around the garden without ringing the doorbell or card & parcels not even under cover. & Yes I did receive the parcel personally only because I'd reminded him I had a doorbell previously but what annoyed most me was on checking the tracking it said the parcels had been signed by the customer. The signature also was written in
my name. I have never had anyone try to forge my signature before. If the courier is allowed to sign for goods it should be in his name.
& Yes I have contacted the retaler
Appreciate everyone's comments Thxjoe2cool0 -
The thing with Hermes is most of the couriers are self-employed and get 25p per parcel delivered. So you can bet they do not want to keep the parcel and try bringing it back.
My Hermes lady is an older woman and does knock the door and get a signature if needed. But her car is packed to the roof with stuff she has to deliver that day.
I actually have a note on my front door signature by me telling them where to leave if I am out. I was told as long as I have signed that they can leave parcels. This goes for RM and DPD etc as well.0 -
Thx for reply still don't why they get a way with it.
Because people buy from e-tailers that use the cheapest delivery provider. Probably because 'free delivery' is more important to them than a decent service. Until you vote with your feet and buy from people that use better delivery companies nothing will change.0 -
We had a parcel go missing from a Hermes delivery. John Lewis replaced the item immediately and told us if the original turned up to keep it. Tracking showed the parcel had arrived at the warehouse but it never updated after that.
When Hermes delivered the second one My husband asked if he had another one and explained what had happened.
The driver replied they have cancelled the contract with HERMES because of so many complaints. It finishes this week.
The empty parcel, still with address label on it, turned up in a skip at the back of the Homebase store 18 month later, along with several others.
Police traced the culprit through CCTV and he was charged.
They did not know if he had stolen them from the warehouse or from a parked delivery van.0 -
The same has happened to me. It's a crime to fake or use anybody's signature without their permission. Report it to Action Fraud, it's a police website. Google it because I can't post a link in the forum, they won't let me. (other search engines available)
The more people do this, the more likely we can get it stopped.0 -

Waste of time reporting it to actionfraud.0 -
The poster is spamming the boards with a near-cut-n-paste of the same text.0

I have a john lewis parcel delivered to me today. I received an email saying that my parcel had arribed from hermes.com.
I checked the signature and it was my name written in the signature box on the hermes website. I started to panic, thinking the parcel has been stolen by the driver. He arrived an hour later and handed me the parcel.
I was really annoyed. He effectively forged my signature and that is a big issue. Someone who can do that should not be entrusted to handle people valuable possessions.
If a parcel was marked as delivered, and stolen by a rogue driver and tgey forged your signature. Would hermes or the retailer believe you when you rell them parcel never arrived. Theyd want proof it was not delivered, how do you do that?0
