  • Morning from the extremely soggy Wet Mudlands.

I've been up since 3 and am quite tired, may go back to bed once OH is up but that is not likely for a couple of hours.

Sitting room is gradually unencumbering itself of DS's things. Much of what us left is snacks, some that his GF brought but some sent in a parcel which was slow in being delivered and arrived while they were touring the country. These are being tidied by the simple expedient of him eating them up. I keep trying to remind him that sweetie papers go in the bin but it doesn't work at least not consistently. When he eventually gets a place of his own, he will undoubtedly live in absolute squalor.

No plans except for making some clothes for someone's toy dinosaur, as you do. I do need to Hoover and to do some ironing now that I've got a lot of the washing done, only 2 loads to do from last week, then it will build up again.

I hope bellabella has a great trip. Sending positive thoughts to those of us who are sad, unwell or worried.

    Morning everyone.

Yesterday was very dark and blustery, today the heavy rain is due. DM has a 3 o'clock appointment so I'll make sure she's wrapped up properly.

My dicky tummy was awful so I spent all day in bed / in the bathroom. Not too much better this morning either. I've only drunk water so that could be the same today. I'm teaching for two hours first thing by VC so I can nip away if needed.

    Have a great holiday Bella.

I hope everyone is safe today, happy Wednesday.

    Good morning everyone :hello:
Not much to report, I had a lie-in until 2am :(, then I came downstairs to watch tv. I had an email from the lottery to say I had won a prize so I had to wait until 6ish to see what. Having mentally spent money on a new house, paying off my debts and spoiling my family and friends rotten I found I had won the princely sum of £2.60 :D. Oh well, there is always next time.

The grandchildren have just arrived and I have just sent Lee off to college early so it is all go here. I have the nurse coming to check up on me later so I will have a bit of a tidy up before she gets here. My legs are still revolting, it's annoying and painful.

Phoebe's first roast dinner was a huge success and we have leftover pork to make sweet and sour with for tonight. I must remember to take a chicken out for tomorrow as well as I want to make a chicken and leek pie for dinner.

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx
  • OL hope you feel better soon, get lots of rest if you can

  • Good morning everyone, her it feels cold and I'm still in bed. The cat is sandwiched between the duvet and the top blanket, keeping cosy.

Have a great holiday bella. That's a great routine to develop with your pal, TA, and a nice day you had together.

Yoga went better last night, and for the first time I could feel an improvement in my ability to do some of the moves :) Today I'm doing a Reiki swap with my friend, looking forward to lying down and drifting off. Then this afternoon I'm wrapping up and posting the photobook for DD2 which arrived yesterday and reduced me to purple puddles, seeing the best of her life in pictures from birth onwards really had an impact. She's had a difficult year so the hope is that this will provide a much needed lift. It's entitled "DD2, a celebration" and as her mum it's been such a positive exercise, lovely to review her life through the photos we have and a few from her and friends' FB photos.

Hugs for the non and patchy sleepers, poorlies and carers. Csarina, what a horrible experience with patient transport. I hope you are feeling less fraught and more rested today. That's you and Gers as carers affected by the same issue, multiply that around the country, it certainly needs improvement.

Food today is simply using up surplus stir fry. I'm dairy free and need to make more almond milk. It's easy peasy and much cheaper than buying cartons, and of course avoids additives.

Waves to Speky, sounds like your early days are going well. I agree that a thank you note with your mobile number is a good idea.

Hugs aplenty everyone for your best day possible. xxx

    Morning all,

Bit of a stormy old day out there, leaves being blown all over the garden, Doh isn’t pleased as he cleared them all up on sunday!
Off to the farm shop this morning to order our meat for christmas, opting for a cockerel this year as neither of us are that keen on turkey and a goose is out of our budget range. It’s looking like it will just be the two of us this year, looking forward to it.
Had words with DSS yesterday and made my feelings clear about his shortcomings in the cleanliness department, problem is from what OH has said I don’t think his Mum did much in the way of cleaning so it’s probably what he’s used to BUT this is my house and I like to keep it clean. Think it went in, we’ll see.
    Vegas baby Bella
RR Mrs Saladdodger hasn’t been posting as much on the pleasure thread either, hope she’s ok.
Get well wishes to all poorlies, hope the sandman rocks up to all those struggling, have a nice day folks x

  • Morning all

Thanks for the thread Nelski and hugs to all those in need. Bella, have a lovely holiday.

Raining again here today and the stove is sluggish.

Yesterday's hospital trip was a nightmare CHS was stressed and exhausted by the time we got home.

I have a mammogram appointment soon and I don't know what to do, there is no point driving in as there is no parking but if I go on the bus it means leaving CHS for hours as the journey is so long by bus, he's not supposed to be left alone until end of January.

Hey ho, I'm turning into a grumpy mare, I blame the weather. I'll shut up now.

    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.
  • Good morning everyone,

All plans yesterday went out the window when my colleague and I were offered 2 x tickets to the Manchester United game for FREE!! So I quickly went home, ate dinner and left again. The game was bang average but it's nice to get out an about. The Metro meant it was only 20 minutes away from where I stay which I was really pleasantly surprised by. I suppose it's also good to get out and get to know my colleague a bit better, it's small office after all.

Tonight I football training. Note: this is different to the usual game of football I play as this actually with a team who will ultimately play on Sunday morning. I figured it was a good opportunity to meet a few new boys and invariably get to know the area a bit better as we will play all over South Manchester.

With this in mind, I didn't go to the gym this morning. Now sitting in work nice 'n' early with a coffee and getting my day ahead organised.

AoD/Midgie - I like that idea!! I might just do that! I'll phone tonight when I'm home from work.
Nelski - Oh my, I do hope you get a better night's sleep tonight. You're practically doing the night shift too with that amount of sleep!
Bella - Enjoy! Safe travels and remember, what happens in Vegas...
TA - Lovely to see you back again and really pleased you had a nice day yesterday.
Dumpling - Ahh how disappointing. I would have been the exact same: imagining how I would spend my millions.
Organza - Hope you feel better soon.
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Well.....the cleaner came yesterday, her visit overlapped with the OT coming, so she did what she could and went. The OT had several suggestions to make, one of which was for OH to have a bucket at the side of the bed to pee in!! I think you can guess how that suggestion went down......apart from anything else there is not room at the side of the bed for anything apart from the chest which has his bedside light etc on. How ever he has exercises to do to strengthen his core muscles and is also he is using the crutch to walk with instead of his stick. She made him stand up from sitting, of course he passed out, brilliant. have been told to apply for blue badges for both of us and I have to apply for the lower rate AA. She is coming back next week possibly with the head physio.

It was a horrible wet day and at one point the dustbins blew over so I had to go out in the rain to sort them out, just pushed them up to the gate, I need to go and sort them out this morning. Its very mild apparently but hissing down, very grey, just how I feel, miserable!!

Dreadful nights sleep, it was after 3am before I put the light out, was awake at 6am but made myself stay in bed, got uo just before 8am.

No sewing done yesterday, so I need to spend most of today sewing, I really want to get the orders out of the way and then I can relax a bit. I am planning to photograph some stuff and put it up on a local selling site.

I need to do the menu plan for next week, I am going to get the turkey joint and have made room for it in the freezer.

Chiropodist here at lunchtime, changed the date on Monday, otherwise we would have had 3 people here at the same time.

Supper tonight is an easy option, quiche and salad.
