There you go again - assuming stuff and stating it as fact0

I have heard there was an IT company that went bust whom had licences that were auctioned off for a song. Maybe true, maybe not?Believe what you will but I know everything about the field, its my job. Keys sold on ebay are stolen keys. When sold for £119.99 at Microsoft yet then sold for £5 on ebay, the clue is in the price. Yes, items can be discounted but not by that much.
Think you should contact MS, ebay and Amazon and inform them of their misdoing, rather than you laying guilt on the end user by telling him they did not spend enough. Perhaps the MSE is also doing wrong, by showing people how to bend rules and take unusual steps to get things cheaper too?
It is easy for MS to ban a number, if they wish.
What irks me is that you pay for a license, get updates etc. Then in the future MS say this version is now obsolete, and MS remove all the service packs, technical documentation and drivers, so if something goes wrong you are stuffed, forced to upgrade. If you did purchase office and got installable instead of the CD, you are also stuffed when support finishes, even if you could legally transfer it.0 -

Once someone claims to know everything that there is to know about a subject, I stop believing anything that they say.
After all, why believe someone who can't or won't admit that they could possibly make a mistake?0 -
Haven't followed the discussion so I will reply to this one only.So we buy 100 laptops, each bundled with a boxed office 2013 retail pack as that offer was cheaper than buying them without (go figure)
Now we use volume license here so have no need for the licenses. We have no approved way to sell these retail so instead of throwing them in the skip I put them on ebay for a tenner each and put the proceeds in the christmas party fund.
Can you show me one eBay link that sells a boxed Office retail pack for £5 or less? And if you do, how many of them can you find that give you the Office retail pack instead of just a key via email? How many sellers give you a [license] and not just a key? How many sellers can prove where they got the key from before selling it to you?0 -
In all honesty it's about time MS stopped licensing home versions of their products, the whole thing is pointless, no one buys a proper licence anyway. They get the benefits in other ways.I recall reading about someone who applied for an in-store KnowHow job. He was turned down because he had too much knowledge, would be able to easily fix most things that came in store and so would cut down the amount of upsell potential.

There's no way that they gave him that reason for not giving him the job. He didn't get the job and assumed that's why he didn't get it, rather than admitting it could be for other reasons.0 -

Depending on the honesty & integrity of the person giving the interview, it's possible that they were told this. There's no way that they gave him that reason for not giving him the job. He didn't get the job and assumed that's why he didn't get it, rather than admitting it could be for other reasons.
Many years ago I applied for a job which involved working on military aircraft in a civilian capacity.
During the interview I was told that although I had well over 20 years experience on the type of aircraft that were involved, the person in charge of me would in all likelihood be a very young RAF "career officer" who knew little or nothing about the aircraft in question and who might not take it too well if I ever had the temerity to question him about any decisions he made and because of this, they would prefer to offer the job to someone with less experience.0 -

Exactly. Considering in MS EULA you're require to provide the end using with the physical key sticker.0
