Thanks for the yoghurt cake recipe CQ - you always seem to get it in Ski chalets, so it will remind me of going skiing. Is a 150ml tub a bog standard "normal sized" yoghurt tub?

Yippeeeee, a recipe I can test out in my newly levelled oven that won't cost a bomb to make if it gets ruined.

    Thanks CQ :D

Whatever happened to teaching them how to make pastry as we did at school??? I still remember now being taught to make puff pastry and folding it over with little pieces of butter spattered between the layers! :D

how do you make puff pastry - I would love to try it with soya marg cause I can't eat butter, but luuurve puff pastry, we weren't taught puff only short....bleugh not nearly the same!!! Although I seem to impress people by rustling up pie with *nothing* in the house!!!! Hurrah for paying attention in one class :j

Ooh I've had a laugh reading this thread! :D

When dd was about 9 the school asked for the usual cake/biscuit donations and I sent in 'stained glass' biscuits, fairy cakes and a gingerbread hansel & gretel house! (I had just found the recipe for gingerbread and kept making the houses!).

School decided it was too good (oh my!) to go on the cake stall and put it into the raffle instead.

DD got first ticket out in raffle and chose - yes, the b***dy house! I was sick of gingerbread by this time so was not a happy bunny! :rotfl:

I'm sure someone will redirect you to a recipe, or let you have one, before I have time to find mine, but I believe you dab lumps of fat over the rolled out pastry, fold it over, roll, dab gain, and so on.

It'll be in the Be-Ro book.
