Thankyou. Changes made and Popla appeal has been submitted.
How long do UKPC now have to respond?0 -

I thought the POPLA website FAQS tells you?

POPLA have emailed me to comment on UKPC’s evidence. UKPC have provided the following
1. A “UKPC document pack”, 36 pages long. It includes:
• A cover letter

The Cover letter above states that the Contract between UKPC and the landowner is confidential and they are unable to provide a copy due to sensitivity, they have provided a ‘Witness Statement’ which is further down below.
• Copies of original Ticket and NTK
• My initial appeal and the rejection

UKPC have marked me down on their form as ‘Driver’ when I had clearly put appealing as keeper.
• Photos of signage on site.
All of the photos they have provided are upside down and the text cannot be clearly seen

it might be worth reminding PoPLA of this. Also, please complain to your MP.
It is the will of Parliament that these scammers be put out of business. Hopefully that will take place in the near future. The Bill has passed through the HOC without hitch, and goes to the Lords soon. In the meantime involve your MP, the poor dears are buckling under the weight of complaints about these scammers. Read this one which I wrote earlier
This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors. Is has been suggested by an MP that some of these companies may have connections to organised crime.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, (especially Smart}, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week), hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct
The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers.
Sir Greg Knight's Private Members Bill to curb the excesses, and perhaps close down, some of these companies passed its Third Reading in late November, and, with a fair wind, will become Law next year.
All three readings are available to watch on the internet, (some 6-7 hours), and published in Hansard. MPs have an extremely low opinion of the industry. Many are complaining that they are becoming overwhelmed by complaints from members of the public. Add to their burden, complain in the most robust terms about the scammers. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Anyone offer any advice on the above please?0

You need to scrutinise their evidence. Find everything in there which simply is not true.
We have in the past seen tariff signs from car parks over 100 miles away.
Highlight to PoPLA all the points like that you find.
Also point out any of your evidence or assertions that they have failed to challenge.
Three things to remember:
1) you cannot introduce new evidence, and
2) you only have two thousand characters to play with.
3) you have less than seven days to respond.
It might help to re-read that part of post #3 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread following:AFTER SUBMITTING YOUR POPLA APPEAL:0 -
Thanks for the tips.
Can you or anyone else see anything i shoukd mention regarding UKPCs witness statement that i have posted above?0 -
