I didn't think that was an unusual assumption given what was in the advert.

    Am I wrong?
    Am I a racist?

I don't know if you're wrong, we don't know if the poster of the advert was Asian or not. I don't know if you're racist, I don't know you.

If he'd just wanted someone who could cook any cuisine, I don't think he'd have mentioned chapattis etc.

The OP was just reporting what the advert says.

I know the poster of the original advert wanted someone specialised in Asian cuisine.

The OP picked and chose what information from the advert to include. They didn't post the whole advert verbatim. They don't mention if the housekeeping includes washing up, or if the companionship includes playing scrabble. They did include the style of cooking required - hinting that this is an Asian family looking for a carer. Yes, that information is important for the original ad. But we don't get to see that, we get to see the OP's version of it. The fact that the OP chose to include this piece of 'useless trivia' and not other information is what I have a problem with.

    OK.
I'll leave the OP to explain why he chose to post certain parts of the advert and not others.

Personally, I can't be bothered getting all het up about something that I personally consider pretty trivial. :)

The OP has already claimed they'd include the style of cooking, no matter what it was.

I don't find racism trivial. It's something that affects millions every day. People die because of it. I'm glad you find it 'trivial', as it's obviously never affected you.

I don't consider racism trivial either.
We just don't agree that this is racism.

    No, you aren't.

    It's my literal name.

Well 'we' know it is. Given that you thought I was saying the writer of the original ad was racist for mentioning chapattis, I don't think you quite grasp it, but never mind.

Who are the 'we' you speak of?
There appears to be more posters who can't see racism than can.
I can grasp that much. ;)

Who was the 'we' you were referring to? I was pointing out that you used we, for some reason...

I'm not the only person who thinks it's off. My original post on it has 5 thanks, Fosterdog made a great post regarding it, my OH mentioned Nigel Farage shouting about people calling him racist were racist himself (which is what I think societys child was trying to say), and my imaginary cat is definitely on my side.

Just because something is more popular, it doesn't make it right or better. Chardonnay outsells champagne.

You do realise that black doesn't refer to a creed, race OR gender? It's a COLOUR.
