    Thanks for the input.

Although talking about mechanical drives means nothing to me.

I would consider other stores it just felt like if I could get something from Argos I could use my vouchers too.

The 14inch screen chromebooks probably are alright I just can’t be doing with 11inch they seem so small.

I can do everything listed above on a chrome book right? Plus I can use the online Microsoft 365?

Mechanical drive = a disk spinning and being read a bit like a record player would have done. Cheap but relatively slow.

Solid State Drive = no moving parts, probably x10 faster, but tends to be more expensive.

eMCC drives = not as fast as SSD, tend to be smaller capacity, rarely able to be replaced as they are usually soldered in. Wholly avoid 32GB eMCC machines if its running windows. 32GB is ok for a Chromebook but i'd recommend 64GB.

SSD drives also dont use as much battery power.

I would strongly recommend a laptop with an SSD drive, even if it costs a bit more and the capacity is less. I wouldnt go below 128GB.

How much moneys worth of Argos vouchers have you?

On a chromebook, i'd be looking for a minimum of 4GB and 64GB storage.

    No idea how to quote.

It’s not the fact that I have loads of vouchers it was just the fact that I’m a student so it would of been better to be able to use them toward the purchase it’s not essential.

For what I want the laptop for which I listed above there has to be something out there? I don’t play games, watch videos or create multimedia or listen to music on it just the basic stuff I mentioned.

Chrome books tend to put me off as they all seem so small.

Based on your criteria of Argos and new, the first one, with SSD looks good, depsite being a bit over budget and has a small disk (fine for a few documents but not lots of media.)
If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.

The reason i ask how many vouchers you have is if you've £30 and a specific laptop on Argos is £30 more expensive than it could be bought elsewhere then you're effectively giving money away.

However if you've £200 in vouchers then it may well make sense to use Argos.

The HUKD one looks good and a better screen size than some I’ve seen. For what I want it for does the specs look fine? Not going to run slow as ?

Nah it’s only a few vouchers so nothing special that’s why I’ll consider elsewhere too.

At that price point, i'd be happy with the balance of processor, screen and drive type (SSD).

Speed wise it will be more than quick enough for what you need it for.
