Sympathies to you all.  I guess you'll have to put this down to experience; a lesson learned! If you look at it this way, and average out the hit you've just taken over the next 40 years it won't seem such an expensive lesson?  I've rented  in Europe for over 40 years and thankfully, never been scammed, by taking the obvious precautions. using reliable companies, or using recommendations from the local Tripadvisor forum, or simply googling the local provider (not the intermediary or agent) for reviews.

As someone says above, the cowboys routinely defraud or scam their customers as they think there is an endless supply of new clients -  search someone like GOLDCAR - tens of thousands of allegations on Tripadvisor, 450,000 complaints on Google.
Similarly with this company; two stars on Trustpilot = bargepole! And another million plus entries- with, I suspect few glowing accolades?

And you don't have to use HERTZ or AVIS/BUDGET.  I used Helle Hollis at Malaga two weeks ago- superb service, new car, upgraded,.  No insurance, fuelling or damage scams- and all for less than ten quid a day with an easily googled discount code.  Superb service.

Better luck next time- the truth is out there

Vehicle Rent / Car Target Group was declared bankrupt in Slovenia on 13th March.  They had agreed an excess refund of €435 to me back in August last year, but nothing arrived and I guess I'll never see any refund.
  • We have had the same issues as you all dating back to May 2019. Still no refund. We tried to go through our credit card company but as the actual contract was the car rental (not the damages costs) and the amount paid was under £100, we had no luck. I hate that these companies set up, get away with ripping people off their hard earned money and they declare bankruptcy... They’ll open up called something else soon and do the same again for another year or so.
  • I have researched it and you can put your claim to the court in Slovenia who have filed the bankruptcy. Click on link below **deadline is 20th July** it’s been extended due to coronavirus.
  • Sorry it won’t let me post the link 😏 but if you google it you should find it, that’s all I did
  • I have had the same experience. Took out their full cover excess, made a claim for paint chip on the vehicle , €320, tried to claim, was told it was all approved, just waiting for accounts to make payment, 10 months later still waiting.Numerous emails, phone calls no joy.  Insurance ombudsman said they cant help as it is out of their jurisdiction.
