  • Hi Tricots - welcome etc...

I'm quoting my own post from earlier in the thread about tickets we got from Ticketmania in the US - they seemed the best value for what we needed from the Disney parks. Compared to on the gate prices these work out cheaper after your second visit... if that makes sense. Arrived quickly too. The advantage of getting tickets beforehand is that you don't have to waste any holiday time chasing tickets for what will probably be minimal savings. Hope this helps a little.
    Hi
We're off to Orlando in April and we were considering just doing the Disney parks "on the gate" and getting the Flex tickets for the other parks. I was passed this info by a member of the DVD Forums and thought it might be useful to anyone popping off to Orlando in the next few months.

Basically it's a Magic Your Way 4 day ticket with a free upgrade to 7 days (expires 14 days from 1st use) from Ticketmania. Adult price is $220, child (3-9!!!) $184. Only minor niggle is that there's no hopping between parks on the same day but these did seem to be the best value around if the Disney Parks aren't going to be your main reason for being there - this works out cheaper than three on the gate visits.

    Hope this helps someone. :)

What can I say? We booked through them and got the tickets in about a week. If you've got the time I'll get back to you at at the end of April and let you know how things panned out for us!

Used them on numerous occasions no problems what so ever but they have changed now using Billiboys on the 192 as a pick up point. Will be going in there not next week but the week after.
Ticketmania used to be the biggest site for tickets a couple of years ago.

Virgin got flights for 500 pounds for 2009 you could go Premium Economy for 299 i think as they have frozen the price at this year..... some times i think it best to get them as soon as possible as you get the discount but the there a lot to be said for booking late...

I don't know haw much this will affect availability but could be a factor.

This year, because Easter is early, school 'Easter' Holidays vary from one county to another. In some places they start on Good Friday and have the following fortnight off, where I live we go back to school for the 4 days after Easter Monday then have the next two weeks off, but in some counties they go back for the four days plus the next week and have the following fortnight off - so not everyone is off at the same time, and holidays are staggered.

Next year, as far as I know, all schools will have the same two weeks, either side of the Easter weekend.

This is the main reason that we've been able to go at all. Because our school holiday period falls outside what the travel companies have taken to be the Easter season, we've managed to avoid the holiday price hike. Any other time and it would have been too much for us. Also the early Easter seems to have shunted Spring Break forward into February and March for most US colleges so hopefully that will reduce the numbers in the parks a little come April.
