sorry to be dumb, what do u mean by rope drop?
Rope drop at Disney is when they open the park and stop the crowds rushing forward by having cast members holding a giant rope in front of them. They then drop the rope when they want to let people in.
I suppose it forms an orderly entrance.0 -
ive seen the rope drop at the magic kingdom and animal kingdom.
it was an ordinary opening at magic and animal kingdom. they are worth getting up early to see. the characters all arrive by train and have a good morning show and singsong,at magic kingdom, at animal kingdom minnie, goofy and pluto arrive by safari bus looking for mickey. some nice photo opps if the crowds arent to bad. also at magic kingdom theres a goodnight kiss on the castle which happens about an hour after the park 'closes' thats a beautiful end to the night, very short but not many people watch it (in fact just me and my partner had the place to outselves) makes it very special and romantic.0 -
Does anyone know if the rope drop at the MK happens during the extra magic hours in the morning or only when it opens to the general public?
Also is there only a rope drop at the MK or do other parks have it too?
Thanks

Thanks! thats it guest assistance card, i had forgotten its been too long since i stood at the fast past posts lol... like i said it depend on the card the cast member in guest services decides is the most suitable, however there are certain card which do allow those guests who are deemed eligiable to enter most ride via the fast past line( or use alternative entrance i think it says on the card). The card also has the number of people in the party on it which will allow those other family members and those who need the card to benefit from it. Its worth a visit to Guest services to speaks to one of the cast member to see if they can help if people feel they need special requirements inorder to enjoy the parks.

Thanks I think you are talking about the "Guest Assistance Card" 2hich is available to anyone with a challange that makes touring the world difficult. However (and I do not know if it changed since you were a CM) this does not automatically give you FP access and its to be used only by people who need it.
Cheers
We have used somthing similer here and it is great because the lad loves all the rides like any 13 year old
we want to enjoy disney and the other parks but if we had to stand in line for to long i fear the rest of the day would be A+E
I have read somewhere about parking at downtown disney and using the buses to get into disney has anyone got any advice about this
thanks

Hi Peter
I am afriad you can no longer get a bus from DTD to the parks, you would have to go via the resorts and thats a pain in the, well you know.
Parking is $12 a day and I think worth the money for pure saving on hassle if you are not staying in a disney hotel. Also some hotels even Disnmey ones I think we would still drive
Cheers

Karen think about it, you go up USA street (or whatever its is) round through future land, then miss Mickey and go straight to Its a small world and then through the Wild West thing, to Pirates of the Caribbean, then to USA street.
Done.
Probably 15 mins when i think about it.:p
I'm not saying you can't do it, but why would you? You could go for a 2km jog somewhere else and not pay an entrance fee
giovanni - I wish I could do 2 km in 12 minutes0 -
