having bought a resort mug (we stayed at all stars) just 4 weeks ago, i can confirm you can now use them in any other disney resort , but not any disney park.
the till cashier actually told me they can be used at any resort, and told me to make sure i take it with me! this is the new red generic mug, no other mug can be.

Do they have refill machines at the parks then? If so, how cna they tell if you bought it at that park or not?

    Hi again

I have seen a few threads on mobiles use in the USA so I thought I would give you my views and experience on this. There is a long thread over on the Dibb on this but as you cant post links to here on there I wont do the same here.

But there are a few ways to do it. I will try and explain the ways and then give the way I use a phone!

    1) You can buy a SIM from eBay for T Mobile USA for a small amount that comes preloaded with some mins. You buy this before your trip and then pop it into you TRI band phone. This works OK

    2) you can of course use your own mobile and "roam" but its very very expensive. Mobile users int eh USA pay to receive as well as make calls so everytime you answer its costing you money!

    3) You can buy a pay as you go phone (as mentioned) from Wal Mart or Target or even directly from the web. There are two main contenders and these are Tracfone and Net10. I am a Tracfone huy and have been for a few years. I have a couple of phones that cost me $10 from Wal Mart and came with 60 mins free. I can then buy 60 units (sorry they call them units not mins) for $20 and I can always get a code that doubles that to 120. A unit lasts for a min and that includes calling the UK as well.

So I use a tracfone, cheap, easy to use and manage and you can call home.

Craig, I have 3 tracphones (motorola) from when i was in Texas firefighting 2008.
Will they have run out of time, can i re-register or can i get top up at walmart and start using straight away. Or are they now useless.
1 of them still has battery life the other 2 dont and i have tried recharging them via an adapter but i think Englands 240v is too much.
    TIA Toddy :D

no they dont have them in the parks.
the only parks that do refillable mugs are the water parks and they have barcodes on the mugs which you zap first then it dispenses the drink.and each day has a new barcode! they are very clever are disney!

We have booked DC for the next to last day of our holidays and the price we paid includes admission to SW and BG for 14 days before or after our DC visit.

Have booked this through Virgin so I assume we will be getting vouchers rather than tickets (could be wrong). Question is do we have to go to DC to get the tickets for BG/SW?

    Hope this makes sense:confused:

we did this in jan 2007, ......we took a disposable underwater camera and came back with some fantastic photos, i wish we had taken more.

Was thinking of buying disposable cameras for the kids for when we go to DC. OH thinks they will be a waste of time as quality won't be good but I disagree. Which make did you buy?

We bought a tracphone and asked this question - we used the phone this year, by the time we go back next year the time will have expire, We were told we'll need to buy a minutes card and re-register, the phone will then be given a different number.

Just returned from Orlando. We stayed on International Drive and had a fab time. I must say that trying to cross at a pedestrian crossing is almost like commiting suicide, cars still fly past as people are crossing narrowly missing them.

We loved Universal and they do refillable cups that you can reuse (though you are not suppose to).
