    Hi,
I am looking to book a holiday to Florida this summer hols. I fancy a villa, but last time we did this the Villa was miles away, so I am looking for one that is closer to Disney, etc, and was wondering if anyone could recommend one. Have seen some at Windsor Hills which seem to be what I am looking for - has anyone been here?
I am beginning to look though all 129 pages of this thread, but any recommendations as to best sites to book flights / Villas would be great.
    Thanks,
    Jess

    Hi Jess

I am afriad you have fallen for the standard villa owners trap - five mins to Disney blah blah. They never are. They may well be fifteen mins to Disney property but thats a different thing. There is 43 square miles of Disney property so you can get on that easy and then still drive for 15 mins to the park!

I would suggest Emerald Island, its the closest you cna get really. Here is an example of a good villa there http://www.thebestfloridavilla.com/ also take a look at Last minute Villas they are pretty good

    Cheers

I'm desperately after an Epcot Guide Map (you know the one that you pick up at the entrance, and there's thousands of them all over the park!!). I've got zillions of the other parks, but have just done a scrap-book project, and am one map short!!

Does anyone have one, that they would be willing to post me - very happy to pay postage from within the UK. PM me if you're able to help xxx

    Hi Ceebee

You might be better off on teh Dibb for this as there are lots of collecting nerds :) doing the same.

If you are really stuck i could ask my neighbour in Florida, I am sure they woudl do it. Postage from the US would be less than a dollar.

    Happy hunting

I'll see if anyone can come up with anything on here - I've never been on the Dibb and am quite shy at new things (oooh errrrr!). It's taken me 2 years to navigate my way round MSE!!

Thanks for the neighbour offer - that'll come in fab, if no-one else is able to help.

Emerald Island is a really nice gated community. We stayed there in 2006, and we're going back there next year:j :j .

In 2006 we booked with James Villas but they don't seem to be doing it for next year. We had a villa almost identical to the one mentioned above and it was fabulous.

If you are planning on going during the summer holidays, I would recommend getting a villa with the covered lanai so you can still sit outside when the rain comes!

    Hi All,
I donbt know if this will be possible but I am thinking (!) of going to florida 1s jan 09 - 6th Jan 09.. are there any site which can get real good deal for such late??? to be honest has not been through all 130 pages but have been throught few and covered Martin's articles.. tried those sites but cant decide anything concrete.. or able to find that elusive that best last minutes deal... if i dont find anything good in orlando i guess i might go to Las vegas but not sure if my 2 year old will find much to do there...

    hi jess

we have been to windsor hills, went last year and it is a stunning resort, gated and we were close to disney, its a really friendly resort and the villas are amazing:D

next year we are going to tuscan hills as it looks great, we decided to not go back to the same resort as we wanted to experience other resorts etc

    Thanks
Have looked at Emerald Island and it looks great. Have been looking at the Townhouses as we only need 3 beds and happy to use the communal pool. Thanks for your help
