Why are women so bad at queuing?

Seriously, such a frustrating thing. Whether it be at the self-checkout or your standard till, women are so infuriating to be behind. There is a combination of many things but the worst is when it comes time to pay and not only don't they have their purse ready (which is always the case and buried at the bottom of their handbag) and after spending a good 10 minutes getting it out, they think that finding the change, so they can get back a rounded figure, makes things quicker. NEWS FLASH! It bloody doesn't!

Then you have those at cash machines that take a bloody age. First they have to check their balance, then think about how much cash they need, take it out, look at the receipt, place their bag on the cash machine, dig for their purse, find the purse, put the card in, put the purse back in the bag, close the bag, take a quick look behind the shoulder before saying "sorry" and running off. This is long enough as it is but then you have those who check their balance and when it ask if they want another service, they press NO when they really wanted YES then put their card back in the machine all while pressing the buttons like a legally blind person with one giant finger.

You also have the drivers who suddenly break when they suspect the light is turning yellow. Passed an accident earlier today when someone suddenly stopped at a yellow light and got rear-ended.

Jesus Christ.

Ah, you are not really valuing the diversity to be found in life are you?

Perhaps you could lean over ask anyone you see is not holding their method of payment in their hand whether they are ready to pay? <Insert Popcorn Icon here>

You should also be aware that the purpose of giving the cashier change to get a round figure back ISN'T to make it quicker, but to reduce the weight of the money coming back.

And while I have seen the behaviour you describe at cash machines, I don't go to the cash point often enough for it to be an issue.

I haven't seen the "Stopping at a Yellow Light" behaviour - perhaps the ladies in your area are more polite and are stopping to let turning traffic complete their turn before the traffic from other directions get a green light?
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

I must admit, I do find women at cash machines infuriating.

I'm suspicious that maybe they have access to a secret Pacman game with the number of buttons they press and the amount of time they take.
  • Hahahahaha laughing at the irony of this post title, it sounds like it is in fact you that's bad at queuing by getting yourself wound up by the actions of others whilst they get served / use the cash machine. Life's too short to stress over things like this, you never know what other people have going on in their lives, and going through their heads whilst trying to complete a mundane task like pay for shopping.
Breath, be mindful, it'll all be okay :)

As per post #6, the OP has nothing to do with queuing (by women) ... it's the OP who has a problem queuing behind women. ;)

Do you live near me OP - I've witnessed exactly the same. I'm easily spotted - the one with the forced grin trying to buy one item, but stuck behind the lady buying half the shop whose purse contains the 3rd world debt in coppers that she wants to get rid of.
And it's not sexist - it is always women - I guess their other halves must be at home cleaning, washing and getting dinner ready ;)

Just read some of the OP's other posts to see how detatched from reality and stuck in a past era he is.

    Oh and:
You also have the drivers who suddenly break [sic] when they suspect the light is turning yellow. Passed an accident earlier today when someone suddenly stopped at a yellow light and got rear-ended.

Firstly the light is amber not yellow. Secondly the Highway Code tells you all you need to know about these "yellow" lights (i.e. that you are meant to stop at them). Maybe if you think a car has "breaks" instead of brakes you shouldn't be on the roads at all?

Seen this many times while working in Retail. Men and Women queuing to pay and moaning about how long it takes for people to pay. Moaning that the person paying does not have the method of payment ready to speed up the process.

Then low and behold they get to the front of the queue and they do not have the method of payment ready!

Not sure if they are doing it to make others wait as they have done or they just like moaning!

The reason for women doing this more than men can in my opinion be down to more women shopping than men.

Cannot see what the problem is with waiting. If you are in that much of a hurry you should have started earlier.
