Hi Emz, that's really great about the box! For some reason, my mum hasn't received any boxes at all even though she's shielding. Must look into chasing that up..
Hi - Has your mum had a letter and registered herself on the website yet? I had my letter, probably at the end of the first week of shielding, and registered myself on the website. I then received my first box the Wednesday of the second week. I also had a call from a social worker a few days afterwards checking I was okay, was getting the food boxes, and didn't need anything else. She also gave me a number for my local council to call if I did need anything,

    £87.12 - Textbroker
£10.00 - Amazon Voucher from Swagbucks

Little confession to make - I ordered a Ninja Foodi from Currys last week. I've had my eye on one for a while, and thought it would be really useful during lockdown when I'm having to do proper cooking!! It was £179, but I've used it every day and it's amazing - I have no regrets!! Anyway, we put it on our Currys credit account, but it wouldn't let us do buy now pay 6 months later, so we're making monthly payments with interest. I've paid the £57.80 I've just received from Textbroker off that, and will continue to do so until it's paid off. I've got until the 7th June to pay off the other debt on there, so I'm sure I can get that paid in time too.

She did, but she also selected the option that said she has someone else who can help her buy food - my sister’s home from uni. To be honest, it would be better if they could all stay at home because I’m nervous about my sister catching anything and passing it on.

If you’re using the ninja regularly, sounds like it could have been a good buy :)

That's exactly why I wanted to get the boxes. If my boyfriend has to keep going to the shop, then he's putting me at higher risk. Need to try and do what we can to avoid it. She can go back on the website and resubmit her registration, saying that she does need help.

    Here it is - https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/household-appliances/small-kitchen-appliances/small-cooking-appliances/grills/ninja-foodi-ag301uk-health-grill-air-fryer-black-brushed-steel-10202884-pdt.html

It's like a really fancy George Foreman grill, that also roasts, is an air fryer and bakes. I did some steaks on there and they were perfectly cooked. Chips are great in there too. Going to try a roast chicken in there over the weekend.

The chicken was soooooo good!! Took just under 1h 30m for a medium chicken, but was so juicy and the skin was lovely and crispy. Would definitely recommend!!

Hardly done anything over the past couple of days money-wise. My OH is in full-on bank holiday mode and is trying to get a load of jobs done around the house. We spent yesterday painting the hallway and today painting the en-suite. Feel a bit guilty not helping out, so haven't been able to do any earning. I've kept up with my Swagbucks targets, but that's it.

It's my mum's birthday today and I obviously couldn't see her. Called her this morning and we ordered her some flowers and a book from Amazon to keep her entertained. Sent her a card through Funky Pigeon too. Will take her out for a belated meal once this is all over. Will have to be a joint meal actually as my birthday is two weeks today.

Hope everyone is staying safe and having a good weekend
