Please can MSE members let me know if they have proof that they got the Warm Home discount last year (and not just the word of someone on the phone)?
I applied for the 3rd year running for Warm Home Discount via Swalec last month, and have just had a letter saying "You are likely to qualify".
But I get one of these letters every year, and I NEVER get a letter to say I have definitely got the discount, despite them telling me on the phone that I got it.
I also have nothing in my energy statement that confirms I ever received the discount of £140. And you certainly wouldn't know from the balance of my accounts. Nothing has changed inside my accounts. I am always between £20 and £50 in credit. I pay by Direct Debit, and it never goes beyond that.
So it seems to me on paper I have NEVER received the WHD, yet every time I call them they say "You were given it on Jan 7th" or whatever. They always say it will be added to the electricity account. I have both gas and electric with Swalec.
I find it very odd that they spend money on sending letters out to say "You are LIKELY to qualify", but fail to confirm if you got it or not!
It sounds to me like I DIDN'T get it, and there's a cover-up going on. Are the energy companies pocketing this money?
So please can others let me know if they have CONCRETE evidence that they got the discount last year (either from a letter, or that it states in black and white on their energy statement)?

            Hi, we got the discount last year and had a voucher sent in the post so we could top up our gas account with £140 our supplier is British gas we have applied this year but no word as yet.0

            I've received mine every year since it started. Not all utility companies are involved though.It's nothing , not nothink.0

            I pay for my energy bills via DD too. My WHD is added to my bill/statement. If i look at my payments online i can't see it's been added but downloading my bill from Feb 2018 i can see it's been added to my electric. I'm with SSE. I also usually receive a letter telling me that i've qualified for that year but this doesn't arrive for months after i've applied.
 Whether you qualify of course will depend on circumstances.0

 Yes, i received a letter confirming i qualified months after i applied. It said the £140 would be added to my electric bill but it didn't say which bill lol. It can be anytime from December to about March.OK thanks, I will try to download a bill, and see if I can spot it there.
 So they didn't also send you a letter to confirm?
