taff, when dad died we had a boxful of medicines, including morphine, which wasn't needed because he had no pain. We expected the ptb to rush round to collect it but no-one seemed the least bothered. We took it to a chemist in the end. Hope you feel better soon.

Poppy, good to hear from you, you were missed.

    Good afternoon everyone :hello:
I have just woken up from an epic nap and come downstairs to find Steve shouting at a YouTuber on the computer and the chat on here about wardrobe sorting :D. This is very serendipitous as I have just been talking to Lee about sorting out my wardrobe as it is absolutely full to bursting and I barely get dressed most days :o.

I am going to ask Lilly to be ruthless and help me get rid of a load of stuff, firstly to just have clothes that actually fit me and also to have a place to stash my Lego :D:D. I have treated myself to a load of Harry Potter themed Lego to do after Christmas as it is a tradition to make it up with Lilly.

snoozer, the only reason I am so far ahead with my present buying and wrapping is that I thought I might not be here at Christmas and I wanted the kids to have some nice stuff to remember me which is ridiculous I know but I wasn't thinking very clearly. As it is only 5 weeks away I feel more positive now and not quite so frightened. I had a dream years and years ago that I saw my death certificate and it showed that I died on Christmas Day but not which year so it always plays on my mind. I know it was only a dream but it has stuck with me all these years and taken the shine off and then last year Lee tried to commit suicide on Boxing Day so that is also a horrible memory.

Anyhow, I definitely need to sort out not just my wardrobe but my whole bedroom as it is looking like an obstacle course with all the bags, boxes and Christmas stuff. I will commit to spending a whack of time next week to get it done and hopefully I will sleep better then too. Steve has stopped shouting at the monitor :rotfl:and has put a chicken in the oven for dinner tonight.

Great to hear from you Poppy, hope your health continues to improve xx
Taff, hugs and warm wishes and hopefully that lurgy will go off and do one xx
Speky, hope you quickly settle into your new life and new flat xx
csarina, how annoying about the fair, hope you have better luck at the next one xx
HH, sorry you are dealing with a grumpy man, it's never easy especially when you have to spend 24/7 with him in such a confined space. Hope your tummy troubles settle down xx
nanny, I gave great consideration to making a Christmas cake after you posted about yours but when I priced up the ingredients I decided to just buy a little one especially as it is only me and Steve who likes it. I can imagine the smell of it baking though, yummy! xx

Hope you all enjoy what's left of your weekend, take care xx

  • Good luck for tomorrow, Scarlet Ribbons. Sending hugs ((( )))

I was out of the house early this morning to take a friend and her dog to a dog agility event. It was held in an equestrian arena and was very interesting but freeezing. I loved seeing the very tiny dogs hurtling round the course, and all sizes of dogs were definitely enjoying themselves.

Hester, you have your hands full at present. Not just with CHS, but doing a loaves and fishes act with stretching one chicken breast to feed four. What a woman :T:T

Your reclining chair sounds wonderful, Gers, and will be well worth the wait.

Sending hugs to Poppy, taff, dumpling, snoozer and everyone else with health challenges.

Csarina, sorry you had a meagre day and I hope you're having a relaxing evening now.

MrsSD, what a great competition win that was! It's so much easier to kondo with help. It must have felt like your fairy godmothers had arrived to help you.

Well the forecast cold spell seems to be here, and the current outside temperature is 5C. It's nice to be indoors, cat on knee and cuppa to hand. Keep cosy, everyone. xxx
