Thanks for the thread Silver Oldie and hugs to all those in need.

I was up again during the night I do wish my stomach would settle down, can't see it happening until CHS starts to improve and is able to be left. He is not a good patient and is argumentative and crotchety.

More reading and knitting here today, I had to relight the fire when I got up, fortunately CHS is still asleep otherwise I'd have been lighting it wrong!

    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.

dp1, I hope your DD is ok.

Am I the only one who doesn't like Michael McIntyre? Or doesn't watch I'm a celeb?

In fact I think I'm becoming a real grumpy mare because I'm not even really enjoying Strictly this year. I haven't like the professionals dances and they are usually my favourites and I hate the fact that they bring in people with lots of dance experience every year but this year they have surpassed themselves with Faye and especially Ashley. It was very telling that the head judge told Ashley that she'd mastered in three days a spin that took her (Shirley) years to perfect - yeah right. Sorry, I told you I was grumpy!

I'm also finding it very hard to motivate myself for Christmas, I haven't bought a present yet, I'm looking at you with envy, dumpling. I have ordered the turkey and want to make the cake today though. I have also finished stitching the advent calendar I am making for Laura, just the binding to do now.

Steve found the lymphoma conference very useful, with lots of things he now wants to discuss with his consultant. He also met a woman with Follicular lymphoma who has been diagnosed for 13 years and has still not had to have chemo so that is encouraging. We'll be setting off early for the other conference tomorrow so I won't be posting then.

Laura is flying up to Scotland for work today, her first day back since the miscarriage and I know she was anxious about it, I hope she's ok.

I finished the star quilt top yesterday, so that is going away until I get some backing for it and I shall give the sewing room/dining room a clean because it will be nearly three weeks before I get back to it. On Tuesday we are off to Bath for the Christmas Fair then next weekend off to Sis-in-laws on the Wirral en-route to Yorkshire the following week where we will have a long weekend with all the kids, a bit of a whirlwind!

Lovely bright and blowy day here I have a towel load on the line and OH work clothes in the wm, will hang them both out today.

Ive tried to phone the vicar re the church but can never get hold of him, there is a family service today at 10.30 so I think I will op down there for about 11ish and see if I can get in I presume a family service would last about 1/2 hour ??? I really want to get these photos for this lady.

Im going to do a roast chicken with stuffing for dinner tonight and all the trimmings its quite a cold day so that will warm us up.

We went to my sisters last night and had a lovely evening met some friends ive not seen for a while so it was nice to catch up with them.

Right better get on have good days all xx
  • Silver Oldie I have never used Moonpig but I'v just had a quick look and some of the HP ones look really good, I'v never ordered from there but it might be worth a try.

Woke up early this morning, well early for me anyway. Tossed and turned most of the night again :(.
It's Sunday.......... so how is it this day seems to come around so quickly .
Dad's due today but at the moment it's freezing outside, 5 degrees but with an icy wind ( feels more like 2 degrees ). I found that out when I put a milk carton in the re-cycyling. Brrrrr feels cold enough for snow :snow_grin. So we will have to wait and see if he comes over.
Roast chicken on the menu for lunch, with roast potatoes, roast parsnips, honey carrots, peas and gravy.

I made 2 Xmas cakes yesterday, but ran out of eggs to make the last one. Don't know if I left them on the counter in the shop or what, but I'm sure I bought extras and they are not in the fridge . I'll probably find them in a random cupboard at some point in time :rotfl:
I didn't get around to sorting the DGC presents either, so that's still on the "to do " list !
Not much else pending for today, will have to play things by ear.

Hope everyone has a good(ish) Sunday. Take care and hugs to all

    nan xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently
  • At last I am feeling better. Have been so poorly with another infection and really have spent most of the time in bed apart from hospital and doctors appointments. will write a fuller email later but just wanted to thank you all for your good wishes
