This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Good morning all
Gentle hugs to all those who want / need them
Thinking of TA and Poppy
Lovely weather yesterday, got two loads of laundry done and line dried.
Would like to buy a Harry Potter themed birthday card for dgs, have tried a few card shops but can't find one.
Hope you all have a good dayIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.0 -
Morning
Thanks for the start silverHave you tried Moonpig for your card?
Cant seem to get past 5am sleep wise now. I envy the majority of people who manage to sleep in on a Sunday.
Anyway dishwasher on and I'm catching up with Michael Mcintyre from last night. Loved his message from Holly so funny
Plans today revolve totally around wardrobe sorting. Feeling the need to be harsh with chuck or keep decisions. Like most women I wear a small percentage of the choices available to me and there are lots of clothes I haven't worn for years. Problem is I try to justify that I will start to wear it and back it goes. Anyway wish me luck the vision is to make some space and fill a couple of charity bags.
Had chilli wraps for dinner last night. Tonight I am fancying some chicken kievs and chips I think. Jungle starts tonight which I love. Shame Ant is missing it though.
Hope you all have a lovely Sunday :A0 -

Morning everyone.
Thanks for starting us off SO.
None of the plans for yesterday worked out. DM wasn't able to go to the optician so, after I did the shopping I was free to get home a bit earlier. Happily I met up with Camelot on the way. We spent a lovely hour having refreshments and chatting.
Once it was dark outside I tucked myself into bed to watch Strictly and Michael McIntyre. I know it's very lazy but I do enjoy it.
The saga of a chair for the living room is almost at an end. On Thursday I sat in the perfect one, ordered a new one and was reluctant to get out of it. It's a recliner (non electric) which moves into position by shifting my body only, it's so comfortable I may never leave it. It's nine weeks until it can be made and delivered. I'm considering it a joint Christmas / birthday present to myself. A bit late for Christmas and a bit early for my birthday - perfect!
Today I have no real plans. Breakfast will be eggs and for later I have some lovely lambs liver.
Virtual hugs to everyone. Happy Sunday.0 -
Good Morning all I watched Michael McIntyre last night on catch-up and its really nice to see an entertainment show for family viewing back on our TV screens on a Saturday evening. The elderly chap who was singing was great bless him and sharp as a pin:)His show is always so cheerful and entertaining
I remember going with the boys to the Science Museum in London and they have a machine there that ages you and shows you what you may look like in years to come and our Jack looks like he will look like Mr McIntyres off-spring he is his double, and all his brothers call him Mr Mac as his nickname.
I was up with the birds this morning for some reason yet I didn't turn my bedside light out until quarter to one and yet was wide awake at 6.00 am. I am reading Louis de Bernieres book The Dust that Falls from Dreams as my book club book this month and its really pretty good (keeps me reading far too late at times )
Just about to have a bowl of porridge for breakfast (sound like goldilocks) I just fancied something different this morning. There was a white frost on my car when I looked out yet its not cold indoors and I still haven't used my heating yet .Think its going to get a bit colder this week though. DGS Danny in NYC said they had their first snow on Thursday night, so we normally get their weather about a week later ,hopefully not snow ,but definitely getting colder.
Right I hope everyone has a good and peaceful sunday and you are all warm and dry
Cheers chums

Morning All
Cold and frosty this morning but lovely and bright, I got up in the night for a comfort break and went to watch the meteor shower but didn't see anything.
Yesterday's washing is all dry and put away, it wasn't quite dry but didn't take long to finish on the rack by the fire. My bedding smells lovely and fresh!
I spent a lovely hour with Gers yesterday, coffee and a good chat, it was long overdue.
Country Living Fair this morning with a friend, I was given free tickets so it would be rude not to go! May venture into town after but it will probably be really busy, I have an order to collect but may get DD to do it as she works nearby.
Veggies for tea, there are some looking a little sad and I bought an aubergine - don't know if I like it or what to do with it but I'll look it up later!
Have a good Sunday, take care.0 -
Good morning, seems dry out there. Yesterday wasn't a bad day weatherwise.
Thanks for starting SO. Hope you find a card for Dgs - I've just sent cards off to my grandsons in Oz, and I need an age appropriate one for Dgs12 here. It's a funny age, some cards are too childish, some too "old".
Good Luck with your wardrobe sorting Nelski. I'm a terrible ditherer about this kind of thing, take something out, well, that can go, though no, I might wear it, so it goes back. What you might call the Hokey Cokey method of sorting - in, out, in, out!
I'm on a liquid diet today in preparation for the dreaded colonoscopy tomorrow. At least I've got an 8.30 am appointment.
Popping to see a friend this morning, I usually go on Mondays
I'll continue sorting my mountains of sewing stuff later as well.
Hope everyone is ok, thinking of TA at this sad time of her life, and others who are sad or poorly.
Take care folks.0 -
Good morning everyone
I had a really lovely day with my little great nephew yesterday....he's 19 months now and as bright as a button. He spent a lot of time playing with 2 toy balls belonging to the cats and an empty egg box!
Later on, lovely fish and chips from the chippy for tea.
However, not long after youngest DD had gone home she rang to say would I go down. She'd been in a lot of pain with her back and her leg had just collapsed under her and the pain had spread to her stomach. So we called for an ambulance and she was taken away to hospital, with her boyfriend following behind. We have a journey of about 90 minutes to the nearest hospital so it was after midnight before she was settled on the ward. Shes texted this morning to say shes still in a lot of pain and waiting for doctor. She had the same a few weeks ago and they think it could be that scar tissue from an op earlier in the year isn't healed yet, and as baby grows the scar tissue is stretching. Hopefully I'll know more later.
Down to sit with my dad later while mam is at church and then not sure about the rest of the day.0 -

I will sing Hokey Cokey now when those decisions crop up0 -
