I'm guessing it's about the fact that Arnold Clark is one of the biggest chain in Scotland so not a lot of choice.

Indeed ... if the dealership isn't Arnold Shark then it's probably one of the Vardy clan. :)

There used to be a decent independent Ford dealership in my town but that became Arnold Shark a few years ago.

That probably tells Cetshwayo where I live. ;)

To be fair, I bought an AC car a few years ago, and it was fine apart from a bald tyre. Still better than a war avoiding vardy car!

I think we’ve been round this block before...

Quality of sales and service at AC varies between branches, some are excellent, some less so. My last two cars were bought from AC with no problems whatsoever.

As for the OP’s query, in my experience, nearly all traded-in cars go off “through the trade” and the receiving garage really doesn’t care about the details, so it will all be fine.
  • Don’t worry about it, they will have checked the MOT expiry when they valued it.
If it was to become an issue on the day just thank them politely, cancel the deal and ask for your deposit back.

Arnold Clark never inspect a car when you take it in.

I’ve really shafted them twice with no comeback.
