I'm not sure why you are deliberately being unhelpful on a forum specifically design to offer people help, but if you get your kicks out of it, who am I to judge.

I am not being unhelpful, but the opposite. Search for Arnold Clark / Shark on this and other forums and see what others have said.

Or continue to bury your head in the sand! Your choice your money. You choose one of the worst reputation dealer chains around, not me.

I beg to differ. Your two word response of "Oh dear" provided no valuable insight, context or contribution based on my original post. If that is you being helpful, I'd hate to see you when you're being unhelpful.

Others have responded to my query with examples of their own experiences and advice, unlike yourself.

I highlighted "Arnold Clark" in your OP, that should have suggest something was awry.

No doubt as I said above you will be back sometime later complaining about AS.

I gave you advice, research first then commit later! But you have gone cart before the horse.

As a simple human without the powers of Telepathy, your two words meant absolutely nothing to me in terms of the question I was asking.

Regardless from whom I purchased the car, my question would have remained so your views on Arnold Clark are probably irrelevant in this instance.
  • Don't worry O.P. there are some on here who just love to berate and belittle others to massage their own inflated egos.

    It certainly seems that way!

Should have done some research then before not after committing to purchase.

Guess you don't live in Scotland then?

Ive been to two dealerships that have inspected part ex cars before completing on the contract. Usually MOT doesn't affect this because either its going to auction (so who cares) or they put a new MOT on it when its been purchased and deal with any issues.

If it came in with no MOT then they could delay on completion until you get this done as they appraised it with a valid MOT, if they so wanted to be an !!!!! about it but usually doesn't matter.

Its more of a inspection to ensure that its not been smashed up or has any engine damage since appraisal.

More often than not some places just take your paperwork for the car put it in an envelope, then go through hand over with you.

Whilst it has been said Arnold Shark is not the best "reputable" place to shop for a vehicle. But that's your choice is you believe you got the car you want and the deal you can afford.

I bet all here who could afford a car they so much wanted but the only one for sale was in Arnold Sharks forecourt would jump at it given the choice.

whats that got to do with anything?
  • I'm guessing it's about the fact that Arnold Clark is one of the biggest chain in Scotland so not a lot of choice.
