start, help, system restore. if this started recently use system restore to turn the clock back, rather than turning it off, because turning it off will delete all your restore points.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

I go to start/ control panel/click on system icon and you should see a system restore tab. Click on it and it should give you the choice to turn it off. Then you can do your sans.If i could i would, but i cannot so i wont, but maybe one day i will.0 -
Sorry, was out for the evening. I think people got most things from that log. Can you try running another superantispyware scan and then a hjt and post us a fresh log? Unless you are just gunna take it somewhere0

System Restore is accessed via the Start menu, in Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore.
Here's what you'll see:0 -
Donnie, i think Froggy was asking how to turn it off, not how to acess it0

First of all thanks to all of you trying to help...
i did turn off system restore and scanned with avg and adaware.. they found some infected files and those were deleted as far as i can see...BUT my system is still slow and jamming... I still have the dodgy sites coming up and that 007guard.com ....once or twice i got the warning about low virtual memory...
I can't seem to be able to restore my system from earlier this week, it won't let me click on it... for some reasons...limited knowledge as you've all gathered...
i'm not sure which site to try now to get rid of those...
i'm gonna go to PC world to get a quote and see how much it would cost but to be honest bad timing financially...
anyway i shall let you know.. in the meantime any advice always welcome;)
thanks again..A friend is a present which you give yourself (R.Stevenson)

You can do anything PCW can do with a little patience, try some other scanners, no one scanner deals with everything
IE, tools, internet options, advanced, untick "enable third party browser extensions", ok
Download some of these, eg. , close IE, do the regsvr32 commands in the symantec link part 4, and do some scans

Now I could have bought an anti virus disk out there but would that work better than the one i can download????? and if so, which one is best..Norton? karpinsky?etc etc..so many to chose from...A friend is a present which you give yourself (R.Stevenson)
