Can I return a car within days of buying it

Bought a car from Arnold Clark. Yes I know:oops:
Ford Focus 1.0 Ecoboost
Test drive went well enough. Never really noticed anything suspect.
Driving home last night and noticed a whistling noise coming from front brake, left hand side.
Had a look online and realised that there seems to be a growing amount of problems with regards to the engine. Turns out that some have been going on fire
Upon further inspection, it turns out my new car is to be recalled due to a clutch issue. The salesman never made any reference to this whatsoever.
It was also communicated to me that the car had a full service history however upon further inspection there is a 2 year gap between services.
I only bought the car yesterday, using a bank loan.
What’s my options lads?

I don't see anything in your post that would suggest you have grounds to reject the car, unless you can prove there is a fault and that it was present when you purchased the car.
BTW, not all car services are done annually.0 -
what are the service intervals?0

Surely not informing myself that the car needs to be called in for a recall is sufficient grounds?
It's a Ford dealership. They should have been on top of that?0 -

I doubt you can return it, however they will find they are breaking the law with selling a car with outstanding recalls. (Not to be confused with service bulletin, technical updates but genuine safety recalls).0

Unfortunately, "Full Service History" actually means a full historical record of the services that it has had.
It does not mean that the car has been fully serviced to manufacturers requirements.
Car dealers are very very good at pedantry.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

Yeah it's up to you to confirm the full service history means it's had all the appropriate services, which may be on a flexible or extended schedule.
If it's got an outstanding recall then they'll take it in and sort it. Have they already done it? Have you checked with them if it's due anything?
I bought from a an Arnold Clark VW and they wouldn't give me it unless it'd have all the recalls done (I didn't want the emissions fix) so I think there's been a miscommunication.0 -

Oh come on, cars go in for recalls all the time. Our Mercedes went in for one to do with the airbags earlier this year - should i have been outraged and rejected it?
Its part of the manufacturers maintenance and enhancements.0 -
To be fair, when said recalls are based around the fact that some cars are blowing up while on the motorway....
I’d say that’s a legitimate cause for concern0
