    Hi there,

Just joined to vent my frustrations that I see are shared here.

Joined OFTM in June, Went from a quote of around £850 a year to £1250 now! (and I am around £200 in credit!)

But what's really amusing is the fact they have new deals! Please go and have a look!

Asking people to pay 6 months up front to fix costs, I have never seen anything like this joke of a company! I am certain they will be gone early next year.

They misquote their own prices on the website and IMO should be removed completely from compare sites as they are still quoting prices I got months ago!

Looking like a move to Octopus for me :money:

Wow, so out of 7 people there are 6 different prices so far.
You missed the slightly earlier comment.

Costs vary depending on where you live.

I'm no expert in these matters, but unit prices usually vary by region whichever supplier you use. That will explain the slight variations seen here.

ive just looked and im £150 in credit - pretty annoying to have my winter DD go thru the roof and a price increase!

Is there anything i can do to protect my £150 incase they go bust???

It is already protected. If (when) OFTM go bust, your credit will transfer to whichever supplier takes on their customers.

So what is happening to the Dec 13th increase, in my case, from from 0.1048 kw/h to 0.1137 kw/h? (I am electricity only)?

There is no mention of those Dec 13th increases tonight's email.
It says "Your prices until 31st Dec:0.1048kw/h.

Another of their mistakes, I presume, as I can't imagine for one moment that they have cancelled that December increase!

Has anybody who is in their FIXED tariff received the latest email about the January increase?

My mother who is on the variable tariff received it but I didn't. I can only assume it's because I'm fixed until 11/19.

It would appear some of us would still be on a membership fee and others a daily standing charge.

Only 3 days to go until I leave.......
  • Only 4 days to go until I leave and I've calculated what I will owe them for this month (just gave meter readings to new supplier). OFTM will owe me £40-50 refund without taking December's DD. I know it might make things a bit messy but I'm seriously considering cancelling my DD that's due next week as I'm getting increasingly concerned about their solvency. It might be harder to get my £50 back but I don't want them to take another £110-£140 (I've had conflicting emails) just for them to owe me more and return it along with my existing credit in a couple months time (with luck). In their email (2nd October) about the 1st November price increase they said:

If you want to avoid this price increase
You can change your energy supplier and we will not charge you any exit fees. If you decide to do this, your new supplier must inform us by 30th November. Your supply will then need to be switched within 6 weeks.

I'm guessing this is some is some sort of legal requirement and not a goodwill gesture, but they don't mention any sort of cancellation period in the later price increase emails. Anyone know?

Also, I'm surprised at the amount of people here (on their variable tariff) who haven't switched already.

    Edit: Ofgem says:

    Avoiding changes
Once a customer becomes aware about a change to their energy contract (through a public announcement or individual notification), they can notify their supplier that they intend to switch in order avoid the effects of those changes at anytime on or before the date the change is scheduled to become effective. Once the customer notifies their existing supplier of their intention to switch, their existing supplier must receive notice (within 15 working days) that the new (gaining) supplier will begin supplying the customer within a reasonable period of time. The new (gaining) supplier is responsible for triggering this notice.
  • As well as this evening's price increase email I've received another to tell me that my direct debit instruction has been cancelled. I didn't ask them to do that and I've not asked my bank to either. What a complete and utter mess they are making.
