Hello chaps, I've finally dragged myself across here and you've lost me already! I'm sure it wasn't this complicated last year...

Trying to keep track of my daily comping is tricky, I'm trying but there's no chance I'll remember/get chance to update my signature every day. Will be lucky to update my challenges once a month at this rate.
I'm using the 'sticky notes' wotsit to keep track of mine, it's like having a little digital post-it note on your desktop that I'm updating as I go along... well, that's the theory anyway...

Just hadn't updated yet! See my post yesterday about the 22 puzzles with a prize per puzzle in 1 email! I was counting that as 22 since 22 prizes.

I'm counting my comps via spreadsheet. Each prize gets listed, then in the next column a letter E for email, T for twitter, F for facebook, any that are blank should be Web. Then I just need to filter for totals - except this is going to be wrong if I can only count 1 comp per email sent, rather than 1 per prize. I shall have to redo my spreadsheet :eek:

Anybody got a more reliable counting method?

I'm keeping my post open in one tab as I comp in another. Then I enter say 10 gleams that I have bookmarked and amend it straight away, then later I do my rafflecopters and go back to the tab and update again.

(I was just chuffed that 1 out of nine of my 1000 Challenges was in triple figures )

I have a counter on my phone which is great for counting anything and everything or if you are only doing one type of comp at a time.

I am using the Pen/Paper/5 Bar Gates method at the moment, but once I get settled into this challenge I am going to attempt to do 50 of one certain type of comp at a time and then I will just use my phone counter.

As I said above everyone will count the way they find easiest.

I was more concerned folks thought what we were doing was complicated, I knew there would be a few questions and once we ironed out the email comps and the MD comps I thought we were OK the others should be easy enough to do, how ever folks count them.

At the end of the day it is meant to be fun, please don't stress over the challenges, the worst that can happen is the Newt will kick you in your big toe :rotfl:

Yep I am going to do them in chunks of a certain type of comp to keep it simple

Although I think you need to have words with the Newt as your giving out conflicting advice

We have to have one REALLY hard 1000 Challenge and I think the "Email" one will be it.

Folks were shocked by entering 9K competitions but really on most of them it's not that hard to do

I am surprised I haven't been kicked by her yet :eek:
