I agree Peakma - usually I find zinc has the same effect and stops the cold coming on - didn't work this time tho :(

Where do you get aconite from? I will invest in some for next time.

Feeling SO much better today - thank you everyone for your advice ;D

    Hello Maridley

If you've ever looked at the price of Kleenex Balsam Tissues (~£1.63) and thought, 'they can't be worth that price'............I can thoroughly recommend them.

The first time I tried them, I had a nose to outshine rudolph ;D and it was extremely sore too. The Balsam tissues are so soft and soothing on a sore nose. Using these tissues restored my nose to a normal colour and stopped the soreness immediately.

I notice that there is a cheaper version, Asda Balsam Tissues at 98p..........but I haven't tried these so can't comment on how effective they are.

It's probably no use to you now but if you are planning a visit to the USA there is a product I can recommend. It is called Zicam Cold Remedy and it's only available in the USA. I've used it and it is totally amazing. If used from the first day of cold symptoms starting, my cold lasts no more than two days!!!

Zicam is always on my shopping list when I go on holiday to the USA.

I have no connection to any of the products or companies mentioned..........I hope the info is helpful.

get aconite from holland and barret , some health shops, or some chemists.
oh my other cold remedy is a really good curry to clear out your sinuses. My partner reckons that curry makes you happy due to the release of endorphins(is that the right word, my brains not working, think I feel a cold coming on!) because your body believes that its suffered a trauma, due to the spiceyness! Dont know if thats true.
