LL the word swanky so reminds me of my lovely late Mum, she often used to say people were ‘s!!!!!!! if showing off!. my school holiday week is coming to a close. enjoyed a couple of lunches. Hoping me n Hubby will go out for a drive n spot of lunch over the weekend. The weather is beautiful

My Grandma used to say that too, n we'd always giggle:rotfl:

    Good evening everyone,
No "swanky" pleasures here this week but the milder weather has brought on all the Spring bulbs and it's just lovely to see the colours in the garden.:D
This weekend I must get my bedding plug plants ordered for my summer blooms:)
  • Hello :j

My champagne moment was selling something on eBay :j And next week we'll be booking our summer holiday :money:

My Champagne moments yesterday were going to The Tower of London in the sunshine with a special ticket that only cost me £1. :j:D

In the evening I went to my monthly Open Mic Poetry Evening in Blackfriars and I had a very entertaining evening. I also got 3 cakes and 4 bread rolls to bring home for free. :D

One of my adult nieces and 2 of my child great nieces paid me a surprise visit bearing a lovely gift for me. :D

We have a festive weekend: last night was fundraising cheese-and-wine night at church. Tickets were not that cheap (€14/adult, €7/child), I bought dds and me tickets for 1 drink each, and they didn't complain or whine! (The champagne part is the non-whining :)).

This afternoon we go to a party for one of husband's friends who has a newborn; the African families I know almost all throw a huge party when the child is about 3 months old. I bought a small T-shirt with a rhinoceros print for €2,49, and we will add a €20 money gift. They will provide us with a lovely freshly cooked African meal.

This evening there is a village hop in the parish hall. For primary school children the fee is just €2, and dds will get €1 each to buy drinks or candy or crisps. We will leave before the adult part of the evening begins, saving the €5 it would cost me to join.

Other than that, it is absolutely gorgeous weather here, so I'll be outside as much as I can, which is absolutely free :D.

  • We’re on holiday at the moment. I managed to find dresses for my son’s wedding later this year. The first purchase was €159 and I can claim the VAT when we leave the country. Today, I managed to find another dress for £26! Marked don from €169! My tax refund will cover it.

This way, I have two beautiful dresses for the price of one. And one is bound to please the bride

Simple "champagne moments" today, a good long natter with my elder son on the phone and a "sort the world out" catch up with my sister over a cuppa:).
  • Spending quailty time with my Ma was my champagne moment today.. Tea and cake out at a lovely garden centre (a family run, not large commercial one) a wander about and then purchasing a few nice items as gifts for up coming b-days! :T
Was good to just spend time chatting and have no issues to be dealt with/sorted.. :)
