    Happy Valentines Day.......

If you are travelling solo through life you might feel left out today because you have no one to share romantic moments with.

Well I say "piff to that". I intend to spoil myself. I shall "show up" and have a lovely day even though I am single.

I shall get dressed up and go into the city, where I shall meet a friend for a light lunch, have a little mooch round the shops and maybe treat myself.

I shall certainly cook something special for dinner and then settle down and watch a favourite romantic movie with a glass of something and some posh nibbles. Chocolate and candles will probably be involved. :D

Enjoy your day. And if you are lucky enough to have a special someone in your life then have a wonderful romantic interlude. ;)

My dd2 (7) made me breakfast in bed this morning, for Valentine's day. She was giggling all yesterday afternoin, telling me to stay in bed until late this morning (we have to be up at 7 for school :)), and asked for a cloth to put over something, so that I wouldn't see something. In a very roundabout ('just saying...', 'did you know...?', 'did you see in that film....') way we discussed that toast gets soggy if you put jam on the night before. I just happened to leave a tray and a teacloth out on the kitchen table last night. I enjoyed the prep as much as she did :D. I got a large bowl of very sugary yoghurt :rotfl: and a huge smile, and many cuddles :D

AND my parents are coming today, for the grandparents' afternoon at the primary school tomorrow. It's a five-hour train trip  and they will stay for about a week.

I'm sat here on my sunny patio, eating a tapas style lunch and soaking up the sun. It's glorious and let's face it February doesn't get any better than this.......I could almost imagine myself to be in Barcelona. :rotfl:

This morning I have made a start on my bedroom declutter. I already have a bag of clothes that are now TOO BIG:D. :j. Now that really was a champagne moment.

I went through a suitcase which houses some of my next sized down clothes and was delighted to find that many of them now fit so I have been shopping from my wardrobe.

I shall leave it now and continue with the decluttering tomorrow. For now I'm just going to enjoy this glorious sunshine with mylunch and my book.
  • My champagne moment is that I am enjoying a day off after a week of non-stop appointments.:D

It's gorgeous weather here too. I'm sitting here with the garden doors open.

I always think of sunshine now as absolutely free medicine.:) It boosts your mood and your vitamin D and helps you sleep better.

"Champagne moments" over the past couple of days have involved getting out in the garden and beginning to get this year's growing season underway. We've had some sunshine but any warmth has been tempered by a sharp wind, just fine to be out in if well wrapped up and on the move but definirely not warm enough for sitting out yet!
