My champagne moment was being given a box of eggs from a colleague who has chickens.0

Good morning everyone. I'm awake bright and early this morning - Shame it's still dark and cold outside.....:rotfl:
Had a lovely day yesterday......lots of nice champagne moments. Met a dear friend for lunch, we've known each other for 52 years.....:rotfl: after all this time we still always find lots to talk about though, then I had a mooch round some chazzers and picked up 3 tops for £4 - bargains.
In the evening I fancied egg, chips and baked beans for tea.. Not had that for ages. I shall be cooking something a little healthier and slightly more exotic today but sometimes it's nice to just indulge in one of my old childhood favourites.
I have been doing really well on the healthy eating front. I have lost 8lbs in 6 weeks but more importantly my blood sugar levels are starting to come down. Stepping on the scales and checking my blood sugar levels and seeing things moving in the right direction was a great little champagne moment,
But the nicest of all was receiving a little surprise gift in the post from a friend. Lovely.
Not yet sure what today will bring.
Hope you all have a lovely day.0 -
Just to let you know Mr T's does a brilliant very low-alcohol sparkling wine. (0.5%). It tastes great and at £2.75 a bottle, you really feel you are drinking a nice cava, if not champagne.....Highly recommended as an alternative for the driver.....0

Thanks for the tip. Sounds good.0 -
I finally got off the phone to organise the donation being picked up! I've done all my housework too and have my lunch of HM soup on the stove.
I'm sitting down to catch up on the videos of one of my favourite YouTubers. I haven't watched her for about a month and she always has helpful ideas about de-cluttering and making your home more organised. My favourite type of thing to watch!:rotfl:
I have my reflexology session booked for tomorrow and I'm going to use some of the spare change I have to look for a new handbag in the £1 charity shop and then get a cab home afterwards.:cool:0 -
Had a fantastic afternoon at my Friend's birthday Afternoon Tea.Her Mum had made everything from scratch , n it was amazing. A million times better than the ones you get in cafes etc:D
Went to ALDI on the way back, n got enough food for the next week or so .
LL I love egg n chips too"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Wow. T14. Well done you. How exciting!! Definitely treat yourself to something nice.
Well my champage moments over the last few days have all been either free or as cheap as chips. Hosting friends in my house, rather than going out.
And chazzer shop bargains, today a lovely velvet and brocade evening jacket for £4. It's gorgeous. The lady in the shop said....."perfect for cruises". :rotfl: yes I said it was. But to myself I thought also perfect to wear with jeans for a "rock chick" look..
I didn't say as much, she looked a bit old fashioned and straight laced and might not have approved of my "mix and match" style Of dressing.
Just resting now under my heated throw. Although windy it's actually a lot warmer here today so thankfully I've been able to switch the ch off for a while. Snuggling under the throw I'm lovely and cosy. Definitely one of my best investments.,,,,
Doing well with the food budget - only spent £35 so far this month, the freezer is full and the cupboards are groaning so hopefully I won't need to spend much more.0 -
Just lost a post
Today my champagne moment was getting lots of stuff at the M&S 90% off sale. Nothing for me but DH got a lovely while shirt for £1.69 and I got a few pairs of PJ's for GC Mostly £2.29.Also got some very random socks to be given to the homeless unit 5 pairs for £1.19.
I went to see the ballet at the cinema as discussed on here previously. Cant remember if I posted but thanks the ops. Looking at revisiting that experience but the dates are not working for me .
Anyway I enjoy reading your thread and will be back in a few days
Take care0
