Greenglockenspiel said:Hello everyone, I haven’t posted on this thread before but thought I would de-lurk to mention my champagne moment for today. Since they are closed, the Royal Opera House are posting videos of performances on YouTube to watch for free. I’m watching Così Fan Tutte right now and I’m going to watch A Winter’s Tale (ballet) when it gets posted tonight 😊 Extra points if you dress up nicely to watch! That sounds interesting.....never thought about trying that. I'll have to take a look. Thanks for the tip.Worked myself to a standstill this morning.....just had a spot of lunch. time for my afternoon nap. 😉. Too tired to do any baking today. I have got a nice piece of ribeye steak with all the trimmings for tonight. Nom nom,6

I love the photo of your beautiful flowers on your mantle piece, what are they? Also lovely the colour of your wall? what colour is that too? Quiet day here too, trying to rest more at the weekend to mark a separation from the week days. I am settling into lockdown, hope I am not one of those who won’t want lockdown to end, beginning to enjoy the slow pace, such a change to normal life. although longing to see kids and grandkids.4

Sorry don't know what the flowers are called....they are a perennial shrub and one of those that keeps on flowering the more you cut it back. The wall colour is Denim by Dulux. I love it, Its one of those colours that looks just as good night as it does during the day.4

I know what you mean about the possibility of not wanting to go out when lockdown ends. I think that could well be an issue. I try not to dwell on the danger or get paranoid but I really don't feel very comfortable now when I go to the supermarket.Just hope we can get back to some semblance of normality before we all become "institutionalised". I appreciate travel and places of entertainment, restaurants etc will be out of bounds for a while. I don't mind that so much but I would love to be able to mooch round the shops, maybe go for a coffee......such simple pleasures and yet so out of reach at the moment.Hey ho........we just have to hang in there.7

My Champagne moment yesterday was receiving a large Tesco grocery delivery after a month of not being able to get any delivery slots
I did an extra large stocking up shop as in the coming weeks and months I do not know what food and household items might be more expensive than they are now. I do not understand why the major supermarkets are increasing prices, or not having a lot of their usual money saving deals, but I took advantage of what deals were available.
LL lockdown is a great time for all of you who are fortunate enough to have a garden. It is a shame that you do not know what variety the flowers are that you cut from your garden, as they make such a beautiful riot of colour in your white vase on your white mantelpiece. Thank you for sharing the photographs of the flowers and the before and after photos of the mantelpiece. The white paint really made a huge difference and I love the understated colour on the wall behind the mantelpiece. Your Christmas decorations were so tasteful

Helen I use an app called Picture this to identify plants. It’s been handy for us when we have gone on our family walks.According to the app, your flowers are Chinese trumpet vines.6
