Phoebe.....loving the "Bondathon". My husband and the boys used to do that once a year. The other night we did a face time quizz. We had a Bond round, it was very hard, very specialist and obscure questions.I watched San Andreas last night (with "The Rock"😂). It was preposterous of course but huge fun.i a,so watched "The Other Woman". A good laugh with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie from Game of Thrones) as a slimy philanderer. Ridiculously handsome and very funny. Not decided what to watch tonight. I've recorded lots of series and documentaries plus Plex and Netflix so no shortage of options.6

Hello Mrs Slapshot - just caught your post. Great to hear from you......you sound very upbeat and positive. Lots going on.I know what you mean about enjoying Lockdown.....in a funny sort of way so am I. I like that the pressure of socialising has been removed. I know that sounds crazy mad but last year I felt that I had to get out and about because I needed to put widowhood behind me, that old FOMO. (Fear of missing out) Would I regret not making new friends. So .....I joined meet-up to meet new people. It was ok and I enjoyed it but in all honesty I too am an introvert and I really am perfectly happy with my life now. I don't need scores of new friends and acquaintances. Same with travelling.....I'm just not fussed at the moment. Happy to be a home bird.Of course I miss my husband and yes there are days when I feel a tad melancholy but lockdown has taught me I really am not missing out on anything. I am happy and content.....sure I miss seeing friends and family in the flesh but it won't be forever and in the meantime there is technology. As we move out of lockdown I shall of course enjoy freedom and spontaneity again but I'm not going to bother about meet up groups and forcing myself to socialise with strangers. And certainly no online dating websites.....😂🤣.I too love the minimalist guys and I am also very interested in the tiny house movement. I have to confess I think a living space of 300/400 square feet might be too small and a bit claustrophobic but I think I could quite happily go a bit smaller in my next house. I really don't need 3 bedrooms and such a large garden. I'll try and find it but there is an American website site where you can download house plans. They have some gorgeous house designs on there. I have never been able to design and build my own house (my ultimate dream house🤣) but I have nicked quite a few of ideas from various new build house plans and design books and tv programmes. The reason I chose this house is the lovely big dining kitchen, something you don't often find in smaller bungalows. Often two bedroomed bungalows have very small kitchens and large lounge diners but I have worked out what I would do to overcome that if (when) I downsize. But mustn't run away with myself - I need to finish this one first.😉8

Hello my lovely friends.Champagne moments galore😁First it's a stunningly beautiful day, not a cloud in a perfectly azure sky, and a gentle breeze to keep the temperature comfortable......Perfick!!!!Then I have finished All the brickwork - above the cooker, the arch between the kitchen and dining room, and the fireplace in the dining room. All done and looking fab. I am so pleased with how the kitchen is shaping up......
I've worked out including a new cooker and knocking a wall out it should come to around £2k. Lot cheaper than a new kitchen.......now what shall I spend my savings on. 🤔. 😂And lots of Face time with friends and family.Going to have a break from painting until it gets cold again so today I'm gardening. Have just mowed the lawn and about to eat lunch al fresco.Later a nice tasty simple supper of salmon, might even have to open a bottle of wine to wash it down.......😉8 -
You can get back to painting at the weekend! The temperatures are forecast to drop by about 10 degrees!
