Afternoon all
Having a late start today as I was scrabbling online until silly am.Ive become addicted again, so if any of You fancy a game pm me
I took Mums shopping yesterday, n we sat over 2m apart, in her garden, along with her very deaf neighbour, n had a good shout for over an hour 😂
Am not doing my usual batch cook today, as the freezers are rammed, so will just potter, n avoid all the cleaning that's well overdue.
Is anyone watching the Daily Kitchen on bbc1?I usually like Jack Monroe, but She's giggling all the time like a,12 year old! Am hoping it's just nerves 🙄
Anyhoo , food wise I had banana on toast for brunch, n fancy a veggie burger n salad for tea.I got a jar of pickled gherkins the other day, n they taste all sweet n weird, not tangy .Can I redeem them ?? 🤔LL i'm also a crisp/ chip butty fan, n the other day I had salt n vinegar ringos, n salad cream on a tiger bun.Omg it was heaven 😘"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Lovely looking loaves, LL/Helen
Another weekend of counting our blessings for good health, sunshine and loads of outside space in which to enjoy both.....even if it is an awful hard slog getting that space looking perfect!!
So, champagne moments were as above really - making more progress in our wilderness - plus some good food, some of which was eaten out in the sunshine. Managed to take the dogs on a really long walk locally, so they got their champagne moment too......Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Hello Everyone....
Alas not many champagne moments this week. I have been poorly. Developed a UTI. Problem is every time I take antibiotics I always feel dreadful. The cure is worse than the illness. 🤣
So my champagne moment today.................is finishing the AB's last night and my tummy gradually returning to normal. Not much......but better than nothing. At least the weather has been lovely. So each day, between bouts of nausea and naps on the sofa, it's been a bit of kitchen cupboard painting and a bit of gardening and some nice telephone chats with friends and FaceTime with my family.Small pleasures......making solitary confinement more bearable, 🤣Hope you are all well and enjoying a few champagne moments and some simple pleasures.7 -
Sorry to hear you've been unwell, LL/Helen, but glad you are on the mend now
Champagne moments over the past few days have been mainly more of the garden variety - it's so rewarding seeing the plants we've planted since moving here in 2018 coming up and bringing colour/life to our outside space.
In the spring of 2018 we purchased 80 bare root hornbeam hedging plants that we weren't in any way ready forSince then they've been re-potted a couple of times whilst our garden design underwent several alterations. This weekend we finally got round to planting the first ten - complete change of plan as we decided to create some areas of pleached hedge which is hopefully not only going to look fab when the plants are more mature, but has added instant structure where it was needed. Cost very little too so a definite champagne moment! Only another seventy hornbeams to find a home for, lol!
Also, used some offcuts of oak sleepers (leftover from the raised veg beds we built two years ago) to create some garden steps - very pleased with those too
First barbecue of the year last evening - nothing fancy, just some Aberdeen Angus burgers in brioche buns, corn cobs, salad, followed by fresh raspberries accompanied by a glass of wine......
Stay safe everyone xMortgage-free for fourteen years!

Where is everyone?? 😯
Hope you're all ok, n coping during lock down. I found it relatively easy when the sun was shining, but now have a very sulky pooch, due to the rain .She is sitting cross legged n giving me the evils, as She refuses to go out in it 😂
Has anyone got any NETFLIX recommendations? I've been binge watching all sorts , to try n keep distracted .
Champagne moments include plenty of Amazon bargains, Inc toiletries n chick peas .Oh I know how to spoil myself. Mum got me a big bottle if Clinique Happy the other day, for sorting n delivering her shopping. Just a little spray really cheers me up

At least it's nice and cosy with the heating back on.
I've got my new wardrobe being delivered today so that will give me something to do later, put all my clothes, boots and bags in there.6 -
hello my lovely friends.Yes it's much harder to enjoy lockdown when the weather is so grey and miserable. I walked to the local shop this morning and it was so cold so I've wacked up the heating too, can't stand being cold.
Not many champagne moments, in fact if I'm honest it's been a very frustrating couple of days. My car is playing up, think it needs a new battery. My local garage is in lockdown so tried to ring Halfords but the phone just rang out. According to their website they are booking in essential workers only. So I have ordered a battery charger from Amazon to try and keep it going whilst I ponder my next step....🤔 I don't want to ask my neighbours to fit a new battery for me.....so I'm thinking if my son can't manage I'll ask my builder when he comes. So I might just order a battery from Amazon anyway and forget about Halfords....probably cheaper. Have it here for whoever shows up first, son or builder. Then when I tried to set up internet banking on my new current account on Monday I spent an hour on the phone with the tech guy trying to sort it out, thinking I must be daft because I couldn't get it to play ball. In the end he said he thought it was most likely a glitch their end and he would try and sort it out so to leave it till Wednesday and try again. Luckily I got it sorted this morning.Then......😂. ..........Noticed I'm running low on paint, no car of course so tried to order from B&Q. They've suspended deliveries.....so ended up ordering from eBay. So all in all a very frustrating couple of days..... Hey ho, hopefully all sorted now. I guess it's just how things are at the moment so I need to just stay calm and zen like and take things as they come. Not easy for me because I like things done yesterday. 😂
I have been recording and then watching a few documentaries too, some half decent ones on BBC4., plus the odd film. Watched the Elephant Man the other night. Not seen that in years. Also finally got round to watching Interstellar......the "science" seemed a bit far fetched but I enjoyed the story. I'm recording Blood and I've got a few series recorded to watch. Reading a bit too.I'm desperate for a massage and some proper physio ......my body feels like it's seizing up. I bought a diy massage gizmo but it's brutal. And I still want to eat everything in sight but I really mustn't or I'll put all that weight back on again. 😂🤣10
