I was really happy that Ocado sent me a text yesterday saying I have two slots free in the next fortnight as I'm such a good customer. Definite champagne moment for me. I have one booked for next Friday and then the Friday afterwards.
I am really enjoying eating foods that I haven't had for a few weeks. OMG, I had roasted garlic asparagus for dinner and then again for breakfast this morning. It was out of this world!
This pandemic is going to make me appreciate everything I had in life before this time. So much freedom. I am thinking of lots of things I want to do when this is over.9 -
I know what you mean Candy....I too prefer to shop myself so I can pick and choose.I tried to go to Aldi On Tuesday but there were very long queues so I gave it a miss. I wasn't desperate. Today I went to our local Tesco Express and it is noticeable that each item was a good 10, sometimes even 20 % more expensive. So I just concentrated on the bare essentials. Same yesterday when I just popped into a local corner shop. Luckily I do still have pretty good food stocks in the house, so I am really only actually needing stuff like milk and dairy, eggs, and whatever f&v I stumble across. We have a Morrisons who are doing "basic boxes" - you dont get to choose they just send a basic pack, either a meat eaters box or a vegetarian option. They just cant take any more orders for proper customised shopping so hit upon the idea of these basic survival boxes. I suppose if you are desperate and really can't get out then they would be helpful to tide you over but looking at what they say they are likely to contain I wouldn't usually be eating those kind of foods anyway. But, as I say, a good idea as a short term measure if there was no alternative,I'm actually quite well served for local shops and several big supermarkets so I'm finding it ok.Good that all your friends have got back from India now. That must have been scary for them.8

LL thank you. I have actually had that dress for years. One of my many eBay bargains. Same with the shoes which were only £4.99 new in their original Lotus box when I bought them a few years ago.
My Champagne moment today was going to Lidl on my own to get the food shopping on my list for the week and being really pleasantly surprised to only spend just over £29.
Overall, I am spending less on shopping which is always a good thing. I am able to add more to my savings account every week so far.

LL well done on making your 2 loaves of bread
I finally received the birthday card from my sister R and the cards and presents from my older daughter for my belated Mother's Day and birthday. I got exactly what I wanted, books. She bought me Becoming - A Guided Journal For Discovering Your Voice by Michelle Obama for Mother's Day, Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams and Girl, Woman, Other by Bernadine Evaristo. I am looking forward to reading all 3 of these books.
I also got another £85 which I will also use to part pay my current Council Tax bill.

LL Aldi are doing boxes for delivery too, but they're full of crap I'd never touch"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Candy.....If I say so myself that bread is delish......had a nice big doorstep for supper last night with lashings of butter and then a proper bacon sandwich this morning. Shame I don't have any nice posh jam. Can't beat bread and good jam. My other favourites using white bread........chip butties and crisp sandwiches..😂. I have been very good though.....not eating it all at once. I have divided it up into portions for the freezer. I'm so pleased with the result I'm going to have a go at making some posh artisan and fancy breads next.Miserable day here so my champagne moments will have to be the indoor variety.....more painting, pottering, cooking, nice film or tv, a bit of pampering. Going to make a batch of chicken curry.Have a great weekend y'all.7

That bread looks delicious! OMG, bread is probably my favourite food. I remember going gluten free a few years ago. That was hell!
Champagne moment was getting 12 hours sleep last night. I was in bed before 10 pm again. I must have needed the rest.
I have been pottering around today as my husband is sleeping as he is back at work tonight. He is now going to wear a mask to and from his job on London Underground. I have just been in silence as I didn't feel like listening to music for once and I feel very peaceful. I have my orange oil going on my oil diffuser and I'm going to read one of my new books.2025 GOALS
