            Hello my lovely friends.
Sorry to hear that Wednesday and Candy are feeling so low. Good luck with the counselling Wednesday. Hope the meds help you. Candy sorry "family stuff" is still a problem. Ladies......love and nurture yourselves, and hopefully you will feel better soon.
Re the driving thing.....it's true not everyone drives. My sister never has, mum never did and I know quite a few people who only do it because they have to, to commute to work. As I'm retired now I no longer have that pressure.
I think I'll be fine without a car, just a case of being organised and accepting I will need to do some things differently. And it will do my "green credentials" good. 😂.
As Luxor points out I can do shopping online so Im not concerned about that. I live near a good bus route and there are plenty of local shops within easy walking distance for day to day bits and pieces.
It is getting a bit windy but so far not too bad. The roofing contractor has just popped round and he reckons the temporary job his lads did probably won't be temporary after all. He thinks it should be ok. He sent a drone up to look for further damage and will examine the photos but reckons that far as he can tell with the naked eye it's only a few slates. So not too bad after all. Phew.
Right better get cracking...feeling lazy today so might just have a quick whizz round and then a sofa day. Dinner is a home made curry from the freezer so nice and easy.

Please would you pass on my very best wishes to her. When JackieO makes her mind up, she does not change it - she considers everything so carefully. We'll all be worse off without her on the sitecandygirl said:.....missing JACKIEO too!.I messaged her on fb, n it's not looking good for her coming back:(

Morning all - hope everyone survived the storm without too much damage. Sad to hear about those of you struggling with depression...it is a black dog indeed. One of my besties is really struggling at the moment and she's so far away I feel helpless. Plus my son's (now ex) girlfriend is also struggling. Such sad news about Caroline Flack yesterday - I'm feeling a bit shocked by it all tbh. She made mistakes, I am not in any way trying to downplay the seriousness of what she was accused of, but we all make mistakes don't we - we are just not in the public eye where everything is magnified and people/news outlets feel justified in attacking those who are down. Such a desperately sad situation.
On the champagne front, a small victory yesterday when I got a great deal on my home insurance renewal, paying £20 less than the renewal quote for additional cover. I've also discovered I can get a Totum card (previously NUS) through work, so that will save me a fortune. I am finding I really enjoy this moneysaving lark...wish I could make a career out of it 10 10

It's my first post but reading this has inspired me. I am quite a generous person to everyone except myself. I have health problems and decided that I could afford a cleaner once every two weeks and what a difference it has made. I sorted out my bathroom got rid of dusty old soaps and found a beautiful soap and shower gel tucked away so feel glamourous and clean. Made a delicious Valentine's dinner using Nectar points and what I had at home including some rose wine. It has made me want to declutter and find that being careful to afford the cleaner and thinking about me is giving us a champagne lifestyle. I also found a box of vanilla scented candles so my home smells lovely. I have learned than being kind to myself works wonders.14

            Good Day All......
Candy September 17th for my Murphy. You and I must have been very unhappy together. For all the right reasons.
Mrs Slap, I too thought about depression and it's awful effects hearing about Caroline Flack this morning. So very sad. Very very sad. No-one deserves that, regardless of mistakes made. That's why I give thanks that medication is available because it does allow you to step back and breathe.
Miss Joggingalong YES YES YES. It is from here that I am pulling myself up from the swamp of my life. All the kind generous posters, the funny ones, the caring ones. The ones with good sound advice. Looking after yourself is a must. Because of LL (now helen's best friend) I now moisturise and squirt perfume everyday. Those tiny things gave me a tremendous boost when all I could see was this vast mess that needed sorting out. I know that this is going to sound a little crazy but being moisturised and perfumed changed my demeanor and I felt more confident to step outside the front door. Once I was out was more open to the loveliness in people that they are willing to share, a smile, a nod Hello............
So, repeat after me.......moisturise squirt, moisturise squirt, moisturise squirt....................
 tee-hee ;-)
 Love

            Hello my lovely friends.
What a weekend.....hope you are all, safe, warm and dry. It's still blowing hard here but I think the worst is over. The roof repairs seem to have held up ok. Phew. My garden is flooded again of course but no matter. There are people out there really struggling with the floods, their homes wrecked. It must be terrible for them.
My dear FIL died yesterday morning. His name was Dennis so there have been a couple of gentle jokes about him timing his exit to go out with the storm. Bless him, he was 97. Sorry to see him go but he had lived a great life and he was ready. Anyway we raised a glass in his honour at our lunch yesterday. In my case a rather nice Prosecco. 😁. Lunch was fabulous. I thoroughly enjoyed all three courses, very naughty but who cares. And of course great company, lots of chat and my grandson was on his best behaviour. He's really got the talking thing going now, no shutting him up now. Mainly English but he understands Spanish perfectly.
Hi Joggingalong. Welcome to our little gang. Some of us may not have much money but we don't let that stop us enjoying our champagne moments, living to the max and squeezing every last drop of fun and joy out of life.
What we lack in cash we make up for in dash. 😂.
Well today I'm staying home and cracking on with the decluttering. I won't do a tip run today - too windy and far too cold - but I can get it sorted and packed up in readiness.
Right time to cook myself some breakfast. A full English today. Can't beat it. I'm back on the WW/paleo and going to try for 14/10, eventually working my way to 16/8. Want to get rid of that last 1 stone in time for all those cute summer outfits......
Have a great week y'all. Keep those champagne moments coming,

            Sorry about your FIL LL.
I'm still finding this new forum layout very annoying! That is a shame that posters like Jackie O have left.
Anyway, I have been making my way through my ridiculously huge stash of moisturisers/hand lotions/ body lotions. I have been putting body lotion on religiously twice a day. I've started using my body brush before baths and showers too.
I did just order a new face wash in my Amazon Fresh order arriving tonight.
I decided to use the £250 voucher for Indian Head Massage. I've sent off for the form today. That is something to look forward to.
I am making up a bag for the chazzer again. I will drop it off on Friday when I have my MH appointment. I think I will go to that nice cafe beforehand as well.
I hope everyone has a great week.

            Hello All
Forgot to tell you. My local library shows a film once a month maximum 20 people. It's an incredible £1.50 for members.
This month it was 'Judy' which I absolutely adored and would watch again. Even cried a bit. What was most amazing was that on offer was coffee, tea and biscuits. And then as the film was about to start a small bowl of popcorn if wanted. The experience blew me away with the abundance of goodies on top of the ever so low (but gratefully received) price.
I will let Miss Sugarbaby give you a synopsis if she sees it as she is oodles of times much better at it than me.

            Good Afternoon Lovelies,
I tried posting this morning, but paused to look out of the window, to contemplate my post, and my iPad went to sleep, and all was lost! Annoying! ☹️Bala: My library near where I lived as a student had a film club. Libraries are cool. 😎Yesterday's Champagne moment was a difficult one.......nothing much happened. Still trying to get over this nasty cold. I did make a home made lasagne, which everyone ate. I do love it when everyone is home for tea, and we can sit around the table together.
Today, DH decided to have a day off painting the bedroom. We had £1 breakfast at Ikea, bought some bedroom furniture, and then continued on to Sunnycroft National Trust........So many road closures due to the flooding, we had a tour of Shropshire too!We had a cream tea instead of lunch, then a wander around the house and garden. It is a similar age to our house, so feels very familiar. Lovely afternoon, and as we have NT membership, our Grand Day out only cost £11 in spends 😎
DH is building the fire. Have a lovely evening 🙂In a world where you can be anything, be kind. (Caroline Flack)
We have more in common than that which divides us. (Jo Cox)8
