Oh dear that's rough. Sorry to hear that. Stay safe and take care.
I have just signed up for a free pain management seminar a week on Saturday. I don't know if I'll learn anything new but i thought it's worth a try.
I currently stink of hemp cream (neck and shoulders) and red tiger balm on my knee. Got my knee strapped up and have just taken some COD oil. LOL. Trying to avoid Paracetamol. I am having a rest from acupuncture. I felt my knees were getting too used to it and it seemed to be less effective, although I might have to go back. It's so expensive though so unless there is real improvement I can't see the point. (Pardon the pun, lol).
So for now its back to self help measures. I really need to try and lose that last final stone, I think it would make a big difference.
As Bette Davis said......"ageing is not for cissies".......ha ha.10 -
Happy Valentines Day......and for us solos. Happy Galentines Day!!!
Even if we are travelling solo through life we can still lavish ourselves with love, it's not just about loved up couples.....lol. So be sure to fill your day with love, joy and friendship, even if you spend it alone.
For me its Yoga, leisurely bath, and then later get dolled up to go to our ultra luxuriously refurbished cinema to see Emma. There will be Prosecco, chocolates and posh nibbles.
My DIL is treating me.....(it's ok she and my son are still celebrating the day together. He is cooking her a special gourmet lunch and then he'll babysit for a while whilst we ladies have some girl time).
Whatever your plans, have a great day. Xx12 -
LL it sounds like you have lovely Valentine's day plans with your DIL. Hope you both have a great time.9

That is a long time to wait Candygirl!
I am going for a walk and then hopefully buying a new necklace if I see one in a closing down sale near me.
We are going to curl up and binge watch one of our favourite TV shows later tonight. I am going to make a nice dinner too.
I hope everyone has a nice day whatever they are doing.xxx

Ah what a lovely dog......I think at some point I'm going to get myself a furry friend. Probably of the feline variety.
Anyway. I've just been looking at my finances......lol.
I worked out that running costs for the car last year were around £2300. I drove around 1800 miles. That's roughly £1.28 per mile which is crazy. So I have made an executive decision......I shall part with the car before the next round of car tax, insurance and service are due.
Even if i were to budget £100 a month for taxis (I doubt I would spend that much, at least not over the summer when I would make good use of the free bus service) I would still be £1200 in profit which I could use to overpay the mortgage (or invest in a holiday).
Its not even as if i enjoy driving....I don't .....I hate it.
Anyway, I'll keep the car for a few more months but won't bother in the longer term.9 -
Omg LL I daren't even work out how much my car costs me, but I'm not mobile enough to get rid now
I see it as my main luxury in life, but if You can do without that's fab
A pet would be great for You. I like cats too, but am really allergic to them"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I can understand that, Candy. Your car will be your lifeline to the outside world. Without it you would be lost.. I'm very lucky in that although I am not as agile as I would like and there are days when my legs really ache with fibromyalgia I am still mobile. In fact my aim this Year is to walk more. Being car free would maybe encourage more walking!!!!
Whilst I had a fab time at the cinema the journey to cross the city to get there was horrendous. The traffic was dreadful, fortunately I gave myself plenty of time because I knew it would be bad. Friday teatime is the worst possible time. I also narrowly avoided being in an accident, so really not a nice experience, rather stressful in fact. Coming back was fine, the roads had quietened down a bit. But even then I was glad to get home.
I don't normally go to that cinema, my DIL chose it. We are not short of cinemas here, there's plenty that are easier to get to. In fact most of what I would want to do shopping, entertainment venues etc are all pretty easy to get to using either public transport or taxis.
Although I do like the convenience of having a car, I just don't enjoy the expense and hassle of car ownership or the stress of driving. I would much rather be a passenger. I really miss my husband/chauffeur. Lol. Anyway I can give it a whirl, I can always change my mind if I miss it too much. I just feel I could put the money to better use, and save myself some stress at the same time.
I enjoyed Emma. It was fun. A naked Mr Knightly. Lol.
An at home day tomorrow and then out for a posh lunch at my all time favourite restaurant on Sunday. Quite the social whirl this week.....10
