champagne moment - Made a trifle where i started by poaching 4 satsumas in 4 tbsp single malt and 300 ml orange juice which i then used to make the jelly (i know not everyone things jelly is valid in real trifle but my friend is gluten-free so i wasn't using sponge). topped with custard, whipped double cream and toasted almonds, it was yummy!

    Good morning everyone.....

Great to hear from you Slapshot. Glad the new job is going well. Work is such a big part of life isn't it. I tend to agree with the old saying that if you love what you do then it doesn't feel like work. However, if you hate your job  It can be soul destroying.

And you are so right about RAKs (Random Acts of Kindness) - even if it's just a smile, a bit of chat or banter. Politeness, social graces and a little bit of humanity costs nothing.

T14. Looking forward to hearing about your hunting trip at the jumble sale. We don't seem to have them round here, although we do have a everything for £1 cancer research clearance shop. I've had some amazing bargains from them. Just this last week I picked up a gorgeous bronze satin long evening skirt and a champagne coloured heavy lace top. £1 each. Fab-u-lous.

Dundee - you know I'd forgotten about sponge free trifle. Thanks for the reminder......I have to eat grain free as much as possible and my lot are all trying to reduce gluten so that's a great idea for next time I cook for them.

Lots of lovely champagne moments this week. Mainly with family culminating with a posh afternoon tea yesterday. Of course I got glammed up. :rotfl:

Got a full diary this week...... Fun times ahead. :D

    Have a great week y'all.

    Alas nothing like that here.

  • I did buy some nice stuff in Superdrug the other day. I was early to meet my friend in Camden Town so I ended up there. I bought some new conditioner and perfume.:A

It's quite a nice day today here. It's sunny and mild. The heating is staying on, however.

 to the fire Candy.....still as you say you'll soon be soaking up that lovely sun and feasting on fab Goan curries. I'm well jell.

Lots of nice champagne moments. Good shopping trip last week. Went mad and had a little splurge. Well i have lost almost 3 stones, so I think I can justify some new clothes. :D

Nice massage yesterday, feel much better. Now I'm feeling less stiff I'm going to try and start on the yoga again. It does make a difference, I just need to get my act together.

Had a fab lunch with a friend today. Was going to use my 241 but apparently they do half price Tuesdays anyway. Gorgeous food so will definitely go back there again. Very impressed.

Nice relaxing evening now. Friend coming here for lunch tomorrow. Granny duty Thursday then an early Halloween party on Saturday.

    It's all fun.......;)

My Champagne moment yesterday was buying £148.47 worth of Sainsbury's grocery shopping online with £127.50 Nectar e-voucher. :j:D:T I had quite a lot of items in this shop that were on special offer hence the price discrepancy.:D

Hope your fire is fixed, Candy. I'm always cold, so would be in trouble.

Big champagne moment yesterday with delivery on new sofa, a chesterfield from Thomas Lloyd to replace our much-loved, but battered old one. The lorry arrived at 8.30 when I was just about to go into the shower. I have a faint thought that it's the wrong colour, darker than the old one, but it looks lovely.

Might have a visit to Sainsbury's this afternoon for a couple of basic polo neck t-shirts for layers under jumpers. 20% off TU.

Mad that didn't get any Marks 20% off vouchers!
