It's clear you're a troll. I'm not saying every international package should be checked; just the ones over £15. Why do some and not all of them? It's not like this stupid process is needed, although I'm sure you'll correct me as to how beneficial it is. I wasn't "fine" when my items weren't being charged. Like I said, I came here for answers because it seems odd how I never used to pay such fees on items costing say £20 but now I do. I've always had to pay fees on items with more value, so this isn't a completely new process to me. And as for "don't order what you can't afford" (note the apostrophes), I didn't know I'd have to pay these ridiculous fees on every parcel. I knew some would be liable but not all of them. Based on past experience, this time around, things are very different. It wouldn't make sense how me buying from the same store would make a difference as I've always purchased from this store and as I said, the £20 ish items have never attracted these fees before. We're clearly going to keep disagreeing and if you think it's fine for the government to rip people of like this, that shows me what type of person you are. Let's just agree to disagree.0

People aren’t being ripped off, they are having to pay the tax and import duties due for importing something into the United Kingdom. Don’t like it buy from. UK based companies.0 -

The government don't have anything to do with it.
Which certain exemptions, it's an EU requirement that duty is liable on goods imported from a non EU country.IWantMyMoneyBack wrote: »And as for "don't order what you can't afford" (note the apostrophes),

Oh my God! What a genius idea! FYI, I can't just "buy from UK based companies" because the items are only available from this US store. I love how everyone thinks they're an expert and that I'm just totally clueless when really, some of you are as misinformed as I am.0

Here we go again.
Someone has a different opinion and they are branded as a troll.0 -
Cheers for the English lesson 👏0

Well, what do you expect? You ask someone a question and you get inundated with stupid and snooty remarks. I'll admit, I don't know everything there is to know about import fees but some of you need to get off your high horses, judging everyone else and making them feel stupid, saying things like "don't buy what you can't afford", "order from the UK" etc. I came here with a question and I seem to attract all the keyboard warriors who love to put other people down and make them feel as though their issues aren't important. Some people have been helpful with their replies but most of you need to get a life. You're arguing with a stranger and really, what is the point? Does it feel good?0

Stone the crows. You need to check the package to see its customs declaration. Theres not a big over £15 tub to dip into.

If you are saying all parcels over £15 should be treated equally and charged surely you would be worse off? As it stands some parcels on which the import tax is due are reaching you uncharged..do you really want them all charged in future?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
