    Not banter!

It's a concern that newbies take the suggestion that a complaint to their MP will result in the PPC getting shut down by the government by Christmas/early in the new year/not too distant future depending which version they read that is the worry!

The Deep has made no such suggestion that complaining to the MP will result in the PPC being shut down

All I know is that your nit picking is getting very boring

I agree beamish, the man is a pain.

The phase "the near future" has different connotations for different people. I take it to mean in the next 1 - 2 years.

I take it to mean .... WHENEVER

You were telling Newbies last week it would be done by Christmas, then early in the new year!

Now you are saying you mean s lot longer time scale!

What are newbies supposed to take from this varied advice?

Can you not see the danger that newbies take it on face value and seize on an excuse to let things slip

Making personal comments to me regarding my credibility looks intended to cause trouble

    Maybe you could review that!

You must know I am not the only regular here who has commented on your unrealistic advice on the ppcs being closed down

He also tried it on me some months ago, the man could start an argument in an empty room.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • I'll take the diplomatic option & ignore some of the comments above :D

I'm drafting my initial rebuttal to Gladstones now & will post it here for some of you guys to hopefully give me some advice on it if thats ok.

Now, I know that this initial letter is basically going to ignored by Gladstones but is it worth including one of the pictures taken by LINK, as I think(?) this letter will eventually be seen by the judge. I've included the picture below as I think it will form a strong part of my defence.

As you are required to narrow the issues under dispute, sending a picture that tells them they have no chance and even better, its their clients own picutre, is a good idea. Shows that the client is hopeless.

Thanks nosferatu, I'll include the picture. One last question, the car was parked during the evening whilst it was dark but the PCN was issued the next morning.

    1) Can the darkness & unilluminated signs be used as a defence even though the PCN wasn't issued until the following day, is it up to me to prove it was parked the night before?

    2) Would mentioning when the car was parked lead them to assume I was driving and therefore drop myself in it?

    How many last questions? ;)

    1) the PCN can be issued at any time after the parking event. Days or even weeks later is perfectly ok.
It is the visibility of the signs at the time of parking that is important.

    2) Who cares what they assume. You will be able to explain that a) you were a passenger in the car, or b) the driver told you when the car was parked. Doesn't the PCN tell you when the car was parked?

    Just to add:
You have already dropped yourself in it by telling the world who was driving the car in your opening post.

You don't have to prove when you parked. At a hearing, your word as a witness is enough.

That photo would be better if taken in darkness!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
