Has anyone used this site for a new phone? Thoughts?
Seems too cheap to be true.

Same parent company as buymobiles.net .....
Just make sure the deals are not cashback redemption deals.....other than that have never had a problem with them .
  • Been thinking about buying the new iPhone XR from affordable mobiles it was £73 a month but they’re offering it for £37 and 100gb data on Vodafone but after calling it a Vodafone shop they said I have to pay £73 upfront and then claim the £36 back every month. I was just wondering if this is true or were Vodafone trying to get me to buy of them

You're in the right place then, with that answer. Only Affordable Mobiles can tell you the T&Cs of the deal you're looking at.
  • It is likely a cashback contract. If you don't realise that you shouldn't consider one, as you would need to know exactly what you're doing.

Cash back contracts do work but you need to be on the ball to reclaim at the correct times - there's often only a small window to claim.
Also you only claim every few months so you'll still have to fork out the £73 p/m.
I've had one successfully, but in general, I do usually filter out the 'cashback redemption' deals as it can be a hassle.
I think you'll still beat Vodafone's direct price doing that

Did the OP ask for alternatives to an iPhone? :rotfl:

Things have changed since you did one, it seems. The "small" window is now 60 days and usually claimed on-line. A lot easier - probably one reason there are now fewer of them, unfortunately.
  • once a samsung, always a sumsung! ;)
