Good morning everyone. It's dull and damp here, with rain forecast.
Yesterday I was so fed up with wet washing that I tumble dried most of it, God knows what the electricity bill will be like. I think in that ln that lovely summer i got too used to getting everthing dry outside - now we've got monthe of "dull and damp" to endure. Hope I've cheered everyone up !!
I felt really low yesterday, so tired after a run of bad nights, but last night only woke up a couple of times during the night and fell asleep again, didn't wake till 7am!! That's wonderful for me, so I don't feel so bad this morning.
I'm going to Do*bies with a friend this morning, while I'm there I'm going to buy a garden voucher as a Christmas present for someone who is impossible to buy for, but is a keen gardener.
Ollie, I smiled to myself when you mentioned not using appliances too early in case it annoyed your neighbours - my Dad lived in a terrace of old peoples' bungalows, and regularly vacuumed at 6am. When I remonstrated with him, citing the neighbours, he wasn't bothered in the least. He was stone deaf without hearing aids and wouldn't have heard if the neighbours had done the same. He was definitely a law unto himself, and drove me to distraction!!
This afternoon we are looking after youngest Dgs while DD takes their puppy to the vets for injections. The vet is within walking distance of us so she can walk down carrying the pup,, no parking struggles.
That's it really for today.
Hugs to everyone, thinking of the sad and poorly.
Take care folks.0 -

Her Asthma has been playing her up overnight and now she's complaining of 'tummy ache' - so it's a 'poorly Caitlin' this morning ...........
Just a quick update
We now have a 'smiling Caitlin' :j! Turned out that the 'tummy ache' was one of the 'need a poo' type. Perhaps last night's 'rustic mash', steamed cabbage and steamed carrots (with sausages) 'worked' .................... she's not used to that much fresh veg on a plate for her evening meal :rotfl:.
Bozwood - best of luck for FatClub tonight
. Oh the joys of getting 'that smoke smell' out of clothing
!
ScarlettRibbons - I well remember the 'pleasure' of older people and their quirky ways from my working life. I had an older guy who enjoyed Rock (or Classical) Music at full volume - he was deaf in one ear due to a 'Mastoid' and fast losing the hearing in the other one. Unfortunately, he had an upstairs flat and his lower neighbour (female) loved 'peace and quiet' to sit reading - no problems at all with her hearing. The knock-on effect of their squabbles rocked my entire Sheltered Scheme, with other neighbours all taking sides. Eventually the lady was given a bungalow in a different scheme and another 'deaf guy' was moved into her old flat - every one a winner :j!!!0 -
Good morning one and all,
Last night's date night was lovely. Great to spend some good quality time with my Gran again, in the comfort of her own home. We bought a £10 meal deal from Tesco which was bang average but it wasn't about the food. As we usually do, we sat and nattered away for a while. She wrote me a good luck card, with a little hand written message and £50 to help (which has just came in handy as I've got a text this morning so say I'm in my overdraft!).
I've a super busy day in work today, including an exit interview with the head of HR. I've deliberately kept tonight clear so I can start to pack and clean the flat. Need to start to get my affairs in order before I depart on Sunday.
Damn! Just remembered I've forgotten to take something out the freezer again. I'll need to do it when I get in, so a late dinner it is then!
Tru - They're intelligent little things them crows.
dumpling - I'm with you, that's way too early.
Scarlett - Hopefully your better sleep means you'll feel a bit more like yourself today.
Ollie - Rustic mash hahaha!!!! Glad she's all good now.0 -
Morning all, I've cone back to bed after a dreadful night and will come back later when more of a human, at present . I feel like some form of human blight.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0

Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Pleased to report that I am feeling much better, it must have been the medication for the cystitis, its never affected me before....hey ho....the search will start for something else that I am not allergic to.
Out just after 8 to go to Aldi, I am at the hospital tomorrow for a pacemaker test and then on to my quilting friend, so it was today or never......I am a bit disappointed with Aldi, there is a lot of stuff that they have not got, guess they are having supply problems. I might have to resort to Lidl and Morrison for some things.
Off to the coffee morning shortly. We woke to rain but it has cleared and we now have strong winds......
I gave the dresden plate mat the steam pressing of its life yesterday and left it to cool down, I will have a look later to see if its flattened out. I also managed to make 2 very simple unlined bags. I am hoping to make a couple of slightly shorter ones and then go on to the wall hangings. I have 10 days before the first fair.
Frittata and salad tonight, I got a couple of bananas for dessert.0 -
Sad news today, Laura had another scan this morning and they couldn't detect a heartbeat.0

Morning folks.
I feel more human again today!:j Still got the cough and the snots, though generally on the mend. There's a great Scots word for how I feel - wabbit, which means exhausted, out of breath, unable to function due to extreme tiredness etc.
I've not gone to work so sent my students their instructions by email.
Yesterday I spent a chunk of time downstairs. The weather was so mild that I had my front door open (I do like fresh air in the house). Cue two sets of visitors, one complete with two wet and mucky dogs which cheered me up. Then I had to wash the four white floor rugs :rotfl: they were due a wash anyway, just forced my hand.
I also emptied the dishwasher which has been waiting since Thursday and loaded up the various used cups, plates and cutlery accured since then.
Today I will stay quiet and warm. Again. :rotfl:
Hugs all round - happy Wednesday to all.0 -
Morning all
I slept well but I was dreaming....... a lot ! It felt like it was a saga as it went on and on, but at least it wasn't a nightmare . Mr Fix It has woken with a "told in his dose" so I expect he will want to share that with me :rotfl:.
We had a wet, wild and windy night but things have calmed down a bit now. However one of our resident squirrels has met his demise, he was found on our garden path. Poor thing, we don't know what happened but he's now an ex-squirrel
. Mr Fix it has wrapped him up in a carrier bag for now and he will bury him later. He has decamped to the shed ( Mr Fix It not the squirrel :rotfl: ) as he has only laid half of the new floor. He will hopefully finish the rest today.
This morning I have stripped the bed, put the bedding in the WM and bleached the downstairs sinks. Hey ho more washing to dry indoors as there is no chance of it going outside.
I want to hoover up the stairs next, then clean the bedroom and remake the bed. If I have time I want to wash the kitchen floor too.
I need to ring Dad later just to make sure he's ready for the CT scan tomorrow and he has everything that he needs to take with him.
Tea tonight will be chicken and bacon pie with sweet potato fires.
Nelski enjoy your new mattress. I agree about talking to the Dr about your Mum if you have concerns. I know how hard that conversation will be believe me, I need to have one about my Dad too, but I am waiting until he has seen his consultant next week. Even if nothing comes of it, at least I will have made my worries known to TPTB.
Csarina glad you are feeling better. I was in Al*is yesterday and noticed they didn't have any parsnips, nor a space for them . Don't know if it's supply problems or the store not ordering correctly. Strange ?
Speky would you be able to have a sort of "date night" with your gran via skype ?
Bozwood good luck at fat club today. You'll be fine, I'm sure.
OllieB glad that Caitlin is better.
Redruby I always knew it was going to be a "hard work" kind of day with the littlies when there were high winds.Seemed to whip up their enthusiasm IYSWIM  Hope you have a good one.
ScarletR glad you had a good nights sleep, may they continue :j
Dumpling we always put up our tree on the nearest weekend to DD's birthday and still do, even though she's married and has children of her own :rotfl:Tried putting it up later one year .... it didn't have the same feeling
I hope your legs are getting better. I shall send healing vibes.
NMLC sorry to read about your family member. It's an awful time to have to watch and wait and not be able do anything. I'm sure your support will be welcomed by your family. Sending many hugs.
Gers I hope you are feeling better today.
TA I am thinking of you and I hope you are OK xx
Sending gentle hugs to all the poorlies but especially taff, Poppy, Holly.

Popping on just before noon :rotfl:
DH let me have a lie in as it is my birthday today :T mind you I don’t really need an excuse to have a lie in :rotfl:
Have some lovely flowers in a basket & little vouchers for weekends away/meals out etc from DH. A couple of stick on LED lights (no excuse not to use the shed during the winter :rotfl: ) & a box of Just Brazil’s (yummy) from my DSis & she is cooking tonight :T . I even got a card from our DB
I shall now sit with my cuppa & read today’s posts.
See you later
