Hi everyone, i reserved plot number 2 of this development on the basis of SW garden exposure:

(Please add www)
But the problem is.. now I start doubting I pick the right plot! What you guys think of the garden exposure of the plot number 4? We’d like to have sun in the afternoon till late, the house have the living room on the front and kitchen on the back.
Thank you for your help!

I think plot 2 will get more sun than plot 4 - unless you can create something at the far end of the garden.
If I was choosing a plot with your house type...I would have probably gone for for plot 2 out of the two you are debating... Its always difficult to tell though as you don't know what impact the surrounding houses will have. I may have tried for plot 63 if it was available... Looks private and truly south facing..0 -
Thank you for your reply! I’d love to go for plot 63 but a going to be a while before is ready and we have enough of renting0

If I had the choice I would probably go for plot 4. I have a NW facing garden and get the evening sun in the summer which is lovely after being at work all day!
What you also need to take into account is the topography of the land, how close other buildings are and if there are any tall trees around (which it looks like there could be?). So the garden could be facing the 'right' direction but the surrounding land/trees could block your light.
I would also chose plot 4 as it is away from the main road and has a larger garden.
The following website could give you an idea of where the sun will be throughout the year.

63 has our property's aspect, but for more evening sun in the back garden, either 2 or 4 should be better in the summer. This is discounting limiting factors, like other houses and trees. The latter can be in other gardens as well as the planned landscaping. On the plan, 4 is obviously the larger plot.
Personally, I dislike having strong sunlight into the kitchen, while evening sunlight into the living room can be a pain if it's in the sight line for the TV.0 -
I think plot 4 is going to get evening sun on the back of the house in the evenings in high summer. That may make the kitchen pretty hot but the garden will be nice IMO. So long as there's nothing horrible over the back fence that the plan shows as green and plants or beyond outside the plan area. It's the bigger plot too.0

Thank you all.. is so difficult to choose, i’m so sorry i’m Going to regret my choice for the next 10 years 😢0

Where the sun sets is only half the story.
Having a south west facing garden means little if the neighbouring houses are on a higher plane.
Are house number 2 and 4 on different planes, will either have a sloping garden?
Find out both before committing.0 -
#2 gets a view of another garage. #4 looks much nicer and further from anyone else.0

For me whether or not the back garden is overlooked, and how badly, trumps aspect every time. On that basis plots 60-74 are the only ones I'd consider.0

#4 for the bigger garden.0
