She was moving as her husband died a few months before, and I think he assumes she is vunerable and will pay up ! There were 7 medium sized boxes in total in the attic and he says it took 3 men 2 days (48 hours in total) to remove said 7 boxes. There are some horrible people out there:(
3 men 2 days to remove 7 boxes? It took our removers 1 day to pack a 4 bedroomed 3 reception room farmhouse:rotfl:
Before we moved it took 1 70 year old and 1 arthritic 66 year old (me) to take a lot more boxes to the tip (sorry, Council recycling centre) in a lot less time.0 -
My advice is don't leave anything at all. They said they wanted the washer/dryer, fridge/freezer so she agreed and did not ask anything for them and then he does this dirty trick 6 months later !0

Her own removal firm (3 men) emptied 3 bed detached, attic and garage, and took down 3 triple wardrobes. They then drove over 100 miles, unloaded the whole lot, put the wardrobes back together and charged £1250.00 for the entire thing which was all done in 1 day. Prior to this, she too took lots to the tip and left the house clean and tidy. She also left them tea/coffee, biscuits and milk for the day they took over. Should have left them rat poison ! :mad:0

Perhaps you did not see the post, but they originally said they wanted it and their tenants are currently using the washer/dryer.0

Don't know who you are replying to but if this is on a contents list that both buyers and sellers solicitors hold then they is absolutely nothing to worry about.
If it was agreed by work of mouth then that's another thing altogether, but why would anyone rely on work of mouth when lists are being agreed between solicitors???
That doesn't mean a court would agree to ridiculous costs.
It just seems like a really odd (and dare I say stupid) thing to make agreements outside of contract/solicitors when you have to pay 2 solicitors and have to have formal lists anyway.0
