Morning ((((((((((Hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

I could do with one myself. Up and showered, feel like nothing on earth, so am going to take it steady today, not sure if its the medication, it has never done this before....hey ho

    Have a hug :)
Still got the side effect sheet to check against? Maybe phone the docs and ask if they can react with any other tablets you're taking....

Thanks for the updates, Nelski and Hester. I hope Holly stays. Hester, is CHS' mood improving, I know depression can be a real problem for sroke patients?

Taff, it's really good to hear you can eat with enjoyment again.

Poppy, how are you? I've not seen you post for a few days.

Hugs for all the other poorlies and their carers.

We were thinking of going away in the van for a few days but the forecast isn't great and neither of us can be bothered. We are still tackling the loft and the study clearing.

Steve is watching programmes about lymphoma on youtube. They all say the same things although it's nice to get more of an explanation as to why decisions are taken. The consultants we've seen obviously know their stuff but aren't the greatest communicators, they just say "we've found his is the best course of action". Steve is much more analytical and interested in why and how things happen. he's booked a seminar in London in a couple of weeks which looks as if it will be very useful.

Could you get the doctor out Gers? ....that cough has been going on too long now :( Take care and as my nice mum would have said lots of fluids and plenty of rest x

Thanks Nelski - It only started on Friday - part of the normal course of viral infection for me. So far it's confined to the upper respiratory tract so not on my chest yet.

Found that I had recorded Princess Bride and Truly, Madly, Deeply ove the weekend so am sorted for watching them.
  • Hi Chums another Monday morning here again .

Nels, please put my moniker on a card from me and wish her the very best and try to get her to take the Drs advice she will get better quicker that way.

Speky enjoy your brand new life in your new country :)

Well chums its a nice sunny crisp day down here in the Garden of England and I am just pottering around at the moment I have finally finished all the baby balls all 120 of them at last and the cash is sitting in my holiday account :):)

Day five of my efforts to spend as little as possible this month foodwise as my cupboards are crammed full, so its essentials only this month

Tonight veg and a barnsley chop are out of the freezer to cook for dinner , off from cooking tomorrow night as its quiz night and I get fed at the pub :)so this week I only have to cook on wed, thurs and fri as I amout to dinner on saturday night at my eldest Dds to hear all about her trip to NYC last week when she saw my DGS Danny. So lots of stuff in store to use up. Nice to stay away from the shops as well as they are starting to get full of Christmas bits and its a bit too early for me to think of that
I am making some Millies cookies this morning for the boys as the biscuit tin at their house was a bit bare last night :)

Right must get a wriggle on as I want to swish the hoover around the sitting room before I start baking

Hope you all have a good day and the sun shines down on your washing

    JackieO xx
  • Morning all and thank you for starting today's thread bellabella.

Nelski thank you for the update and would you please wish Holly a happy birthday from me?

Good to know that CHS is making progress.

It is mild here but very damp, quite misty so I don't think the sun will be shining down on my washing JackieO but thank you for the thought anyway. I think I'll leave mine for another day, we all have enough clean clothes and there are plenty of towels waiting.

Sending love to all those who are sad, weary, unwell or simply would like a hug.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back
  • If theres room on Hollys card would you wish her happy birthday from me too please, I often think of her, it seems to be taking such a long time, but so worth it if she can just stick it out.
  • NELSKI Would you also please add me to the growing list of well wishers on Holly's card. Thanks x

    Good afternoon,

Just popped back from visiting elderly auntie up the road, though she certaily wouldnt appreciate me referring to her like that.Only just caught her in, her car was out and ready to go so I said I'd just leave the magazines I had but she insisted on me going in and having a quick cuppa. My brother rang while I was there as he was going to call but he'll pop in later in the week instead.

Ly1a was better than last year with the fireworks,I was trying different tablets, but still very nervous. She was worst on Saturday I think but we were out & DS1 took charge,he said she didnt lie down for 2 1/2 hours,he pulled the chair away from the wall and she kept hiding behind there. Still quite a lot of bangs last night so the telly was on pretty loud. Our previous dog didnt mind being outside at all, like Scampi :D I think I'll keep the tablets going for another couple of days to be on the safe side. DS2 and the DGC enjoyed their walk up to the bonfire but DGS was very tired on the way back.

Nmlc hope you enjoy the quiet in your new office.
I watched the antiques roadshow too and had tears streaming down my face when they were at the War graves in France,as 2 of my Grans brothers are buried there, their loss affected her right up until she died :( She had 5 brothers who all served in the 1st WW.I inherited lots of letters and postcards they sent back home, and medals. One of my great uncles who survived serving in both wars and lived to a ripe old age wrote his memories down as he got older,I have that too.Parts are very harrowing ,especially when he got word that his 2 brothers had been killed but they just had to carry on :( I certainly wear my poppy with pride, not to glorify war or anything like that but to remember them ,and the others who died.

My friend was coming this afternoon but rang earlier to say her disabled son was ill and she didnt want to leave him.Dont need to tidy up as much now :D
Nelski, please send Birthday wishes to Holly from me,think of her often.
Hungry now so will go and raid the fridge, hugs to all, glad to hear CHS is progressing.
