A very good afternoon, SPCers! I'm a bit late on today due to shopping, but....more money in the pot!!!! :j Very windy here but at least it's dry.
To any of our members who are poorly or low in spirit, here's hoping you get well soon. For now, love and {{{Hugs}}} from us all. :grinheart

Good to hear of your hopes for enough to put towards a car in 2020, Hicksy, fingers crossed it happens for you!! ;)

Great savings, 32b3, and I bet you're really looking forward to tomorrow and the weekend sooooo much!! :D

You're doing really well, Purplemumof2, fingers crossed that you get what you're hoping for next year. It's always lovely to see you saying a few words and.....not forgetting us. :( Same is true for all members, hopefully we can do better this year and give everyone more incentive!! :j

Excellent work, dustydigger! You caertainly know how to save. :D
Having rubbish day - back pain horrendous and gutted found out hubby's work messed his claims up for months and months. We need to pay back £1075 - £400 Dec, £400 Jan, £275 Feb.

I'm still stuck on SSP so we're really having to tighten our belts. Have moved DD on mortgage from start of month to end which gains us 'spare' £500 in December so Christmas is achieveable. I'm determined not to add to debt or touch our £1000 EF.

With regards to my SPC I still have a lovely £27.75 sat in there and no matter how skint we are, it stays put!

I've been surveying like a crazy woman last two days and have £10.89 cleared £3.96 pending. I'm going to keep going and earn as much as I can, but am sad to say that this cash may not end up in the SPC.

Hey-ho, we're all still alive, still smiling and are together. We have a lovely home and the bills are paid. Just feel like i've been kicked when I'm down and it's twice as hard as Christmas.

Good heavens above, Choccygirl, that was a massive error for your DH's firm to make!!! I suppose it is definitely correct??!! Little wonder you're having a rotten day.

I know this may affect your SPC pot, but keep a note of all you would have saved, because, in a sense, that's what you would have done with it, that way you can still declare it next October 31st. I hope that's of some consolation to you, but I'd still make absolute certain DH's firm have got it right.

Take care of your back and rest yourself. You've got great determination I'll say that for you, keep it up, your chin too. :kisses3:

Brilliant going with the £2 coins, Thrice, though keep :shhh: as jakes-mum thinks she has claim to all the £2 coins throughout the country. Little does she know that I got some as well after the shopping this morning!!!!! :rotfl:

WOW! You have the year clearly mapped out, browneyed_girl!! Very well done you! :T Your Target is set for the £1000, somehow I get the feeling you'll achieve it too!!! :j

Fantastic work, Robin!!!! It's wonderful to hear Potters become so motivated to really push themselves forward with saving all they can, and you're doing just that!!!! :D

A healthy amount to my pot after shopping this morning, £14 in the pot for the week!!!!
Enjoy your evening, SPCers, a great good Thursday too.
    Sue

Opening date for SPC 12 will be 31st October 2019

Hi all. Nice to see lots of lovely posts up here on the thread, I want to try and post regularly and join in with the group conversation but I find it hard to follow easily on my phone screen so tend to pop on when I get the computer out.

So this week I took lots of coins from a pot i had last year to the bank on Tuesday and banked £112. However the rest of it was random coins the bank wouldn't take and they didn't have one of those 'throw in all the coin machines' so I took it all away again. Some i spent on a few Christmas presents while I was out and about, as that's what the pot is for anyway, but the rest i repotted for this years SPC.

I am so keen to find some roadkill, i love a bit of free money! People have no love for coppers, but I had £8 in coppers in my pot i just emptied - save the pennies and all that!

Could I join please? I have a target of £700. Thanks

Welcome to the[STRIKE] mad house [/STRIKE]Sealed Pot Challenge. :D I trust you have found a pot in which to put your treasures? And read through the first post, which our esteemed leader Sue-UU lays down our rules? Excellent! Then welcome! :)

I potted £5 last night. Three days of no spending, thanks to a visit at school from the dreaded Ofsted. Thank goodness it's Friday.

And yes, same problem as last year Sue! I'm part time as of next week, which I am so relieved about. It feels as though a massive weight has been lifted, even though it kicks in next week.

    Hi potters,

You're all so lovely, thank you for the kind words. Sue We've checked and double checked it's right I'm afraid. The stupid HR has used the wrong rate for hubby - it's really complicated but it's lots of little claims mileage, refund on courses etc. The good news is that they'll delay first payment until end of Dec. Jan always a nothing month, so at least Decemeber will be normal.

It means I'm back on surverys for my pot :j- have been been lucky and lots last couple of days. My pay balance is £11.49 with £4.63 pending. I'm going to cash it out when it hits £20 and stick it in the pot!

I love PA, as you're already screened for the survey so you don't waste time answering half the survey before it boots you out.If anyone who hasn't joined a survey site would like a link, drop me a pm.

    Good afternoon potters :)

Can't believe we're already a week into the new challenge

I've been potting the shrapnel this week but there's still that empty sound at the bottom of the jar, hopefully that will change very soon.

Have a great weekend and keep your eyes peeled for roadkill :rotfl:
