It appears to be new and full price according to the OP. Again, that’s what happens, if it is covered by the warranty you get a free new one, if not, you get a full price new one.

As far as I can see there is no policy that gets you a cheaper one if you send back a smashed one...

If that’s the case they have no right to keep the old watch. The Op could’ve just bought one without bothering to send back the old one.

Agreed that they could have just bought a new one. It was sent for a warranty replacement (possibly)

You cannot just say Apple have no rights to the old one without looking at what OP agreed to. OP has not came back to the thread to answer any questions so it’s pointless speculating.

As it stands Apple have followed the procedure detailed on their website: nowhere on the website does it say after assessing the damage the original will be returned with the new replacement. Until the OP ‘shows’ that Apple mislead her husband into thinking a repair was possible we cannot say that apple have done anything wrong. The website clearly states the policy and procedure and clearly states that screen repairs/replacements are not a thing and require a new device.

I’ve just had a quick look and it appears the replacement watches are cheaper, if that’s the case then it looks like not to bad a deal, for Apple.

Good catch. Not sure what the OP is talking about then as they say ‘full retail price’ but I’m not going to worry too much about it unless they come back with info, as it doesn’t make sense. Either Apple did everything they say they would do on their repair terms, OR they misled them into thinking they could possibly repair and then underhandedly charged them full price for a new one out of the blue. I just don’t see the second option happening, especially as card details clearly changed hands at some point.

He did not have an accent from Lancashire and I assure you it was that person. That switch card sits in a drawer in her bedroom. The ONLY person who had those details was him from Carphonewarehouse.

I live in Scotland but come from the NW of England, nobody thinks I have a Scottish accent, you seem to presume a lot.

Report it to the police and let them investigate.
